    Question Custom game menu.

Ey, im new at this game. CIV 5

the only thing I want to get information about is following:

What is the differens in world age, Resources, and what kind of advantages does AI get in the differens diffuclties,
what kind of personalyties is there,
and what does disable start bias mean ??

I know it is weird to ask about but,, imo is it sad I cant see it anywere.

    :P

I don't think any civ gets an advantage over another in these selections. The ignore starting location bias thing will give civs truly random starting positions. For example, the Greeks, you expect them to start on the coast, and Hiawatha would normally get a starting position in lands with alot of forests.
At least, that's my understanding of how it works.

Welcome. There's no such thing as a stupid question, so ask whenever you need more information.

Age: there is debate about this, and I don't know if it has been settled in other threads. I believe younger worlds are more mountainous; older worlds have been eroded and therefore have fewer mountains. I think this was how Civ3 game setup worked, so it should be the same for Civ5.

The Resources pull-down menu lists the following choices:

    • Sparse
    • Standard
    • Abundant
    • Legendary Start
    • Strategic Balance
    • Random

I haven't experimented with these options, but they seem pretty clear. Legendary Start probably means super-abundant. Strategic Balance probably means that each power has equivalent access to strategic resources (iron, horses, etc.).

If I understand it correctly, "Legendary Start" means that there will be lots of resources around the starting location of each civ.

So "Abundant" would mean that there are lots of resources throughout the map, and "Sparse" would naturally mean that there are fewer resources throughout the map.

I'm not a hundred percent sure of these, because, as you've discovered, they don't seem to be documented anywhere. The documentation for the game is generally lacking.

"Strategic ballance" does indeed mean that the starting location of each civ is assured to have all the strategic resources near by.

This makes sense to me. I'll have to try this option.
