    A real reason to use Raging Barbs

    I just recently played through my first raging barb map. It was slow, painful, and monotonous. Why is there a level cap for killing barbs? They get the same exact units you do, and for free! they pillage (and rape i assume lol . So since i know jack about modding, i would ask you guys first before delving into the wonderful guide from civfanatics on modding.

    Is it possible to eliminate the level cap on killing barbs? Or is that an aspect of the game that can't be changed...a sort of hardcoded thing? (i hope i said that right lol)

    There is a mod that does just what you ask, though I can't recall the name of it. Just search for XP cap in the mod list, that might get it for you.

    Yeah I always use the barb xp mod personally. Funny though that I haven't just merged it with my own. It is a pretty small block of text.


    I like finding camps and surrounded them with 3 archers. Had a game where I kept 3 barb camps alive into the industrial era. My ~20 level 6-8 machine gunners were quite a force to be reckoned with when Germany finally made a move.

    thanks again guys, i found it and installed it. I'll start messing around with it later hehe. I more or less wanted it for island maps, cuz the damn trieme's kept sinking my land units

    I made a similar mod in which I raised the XP cap to 20,000, more than any unit is ever likely to reach. I haven't used it in a while, though, as I decided to work on some achievements and also because I found that my L16 units were a bit excessive during war with the AIs .

    On the good side, when I do use it I don't feel like I am taking pointless risks fighting the barbs after my units reach L3.

    Hey, even the Problem is probably solved by now, I have made a small mod that does exactly what you request - it completely removes the XP-Cap from fighting barbarians. You should be able to find it in the mod browser, or if your ModBrowser spazzes like mine, you can get it here:
