Random Crashes During Gameplay

I can get in and even possibly play for a moment or two. But even with all of my settings to low and the resolution to 800 X 600 it still crashes. It's the Bioshock.exe stopped working. No BSODs. I have the most recent DX and drivers. I have even reinstalled it (which meant redownloading through steam...). Any other tips are welcomed. A patch even more welcomed...

I guess I should add I was using the -nosound steam command and the game seemed to be working for over 10 minutes. I quit and restarted because the lack of sound was decreasing my enjoyment of the game.
