How to use Steam correctly to find MP games
I am Newbie regarding Steam. and Firaxis in its Wisdom uses Steam.
The Game Lobby for MP in Civ5 does not work properly. It was suggested to join some of the various private groups /leagues to find MP games.
MY question now are quite simple and perhaps somebody can link to newbie FAQ how to work with steam?
OK I start CIV 5 => Strg Tab to Steam => I join some of the CIV groups there .... Fien there are some with up to 2000 members and now?
OK, now what? Nobody is in the Chat rooms.... Must I now add every single player in the groups one by one to my "friend lists?"
Can somebody just explain in simple words how / where Civ 5 games are organised and how you can join?
You could of course add people to your steam friends list. But the Civplayers Chat room is for now, probably the only Civ5 Steam group that regularly has a active chat room, simiply because that has always been were we live, in the "lobby" just this time we had to invent the lobby.
The number of players has gone down recently as players are getting tired of the bugs and many players are waiting for a MP specific patch. But still on saturday we had 30+ players in our room all day and 27 games registered on the league, and that is not counting all the non-league games that got played as well.
THx for the answer. So, its orgainzed in the chat. Thought I was doing something wrong.
Yes since Steams regional games lists are next to useless, we chat about games starting in the lobby, and then the host will start the game up, and either invite players via the player list, or players just click on the hosts name and click Join Game.
