Things to Watch out for
There are no natural disasters in Civ MCMDLVIII, but there are things to keep vigilant about, so that they don't develop in your civilization. These are called "God's curses", and you can avoid them by going to church.
Homosexuality: 50% reduction in growth rate, 50% increase in disease and immorality, 50% loss of hope if they recruit your children
False Prophets: these are liberals who masquerade as conservatives, -1 food, -1 innocence
MSNBC: especially in prime time and evening hours - for each exposure to Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, you will lose one ignorance point (and therefore one bliss point)
2K Elizabeth: if her mood is good, +1 happiness in each city; but if her mood is sour, +20 points on your permanent record to expire at her whim - you will do well to sacrifice fine chocolates and good red wines to her every few turns
