    I thought the aspect ration fix was made months ago… hold on, let me look into it.

    EDIT: Yeah, here it is. Here's the patch notes for the update they released on February 22nd of last year:

    Well, this point has been been argued ad nauseum, but... I don't know what 2K meant for that patch to address, however, the thing that players are not happy with, that is NOT fixed, is that the HUD is stretched. Circular items on the HUD should be truly circular, but you can clearly tell that the HUD is stretched because circular items appear as ovals.

    Yeah, you are absolutely right Relight, that is my issue and you are right to say this bug has been discussed over and over again. The patch or patches released so far have not fixed it. I still really want to play bioshock 2 having owned it for over a year now but the game for me is still broken and i feel i've wasted my money

    About the DLC which wasn't supposed to appear yet. How do I delete it from my pc?

  5. #765
    Well, despite the unknown waiting period for the patch + DLC, I'm ok just playing both games again. I really couldn't care less about any minor glitches, because while they may be occasionally irritating, it doesn't actually take away from the game play itself, or the phenomenal story.

    It's not hard; open the GFWL Marketplace, select the Downloads tab, and click delete next to the DLC you wish to be rid of.
    In any case, I HAVE been contacted by Microsoft... However, they seem to be rather slow about putting the points back into my account; I've yet to receive the confirmation email they said they would send.

    I wouldn't expect any useful information until the day it launches on GFWL... again.

    I've seen better organized Egyptian press conferences.

    Based on past history I would not expect any useful information - EVER - and at this point who even cares anymore.

    I don't care other than the pure comedy of it all at this point - I kinda like watching a big $ oriented publicly traded (subsidiary) company completely screw the pooch - very entertaining actually (more than the game).

    And I take it that after over 4 months from this post you still haven't done anything about it. Even more, the recent erroneus, unworking release of Protector Trials proves you've even regressed -- the build that got released on Games For Windows Marketplace does not work with the game at all.

Currently, we are patching the final bugs in these two pieces of content and then will submit everything to certification. The cert process can take anywhere up to four weeks, but as we hit major milestones (passing cert or otherwise included) I'll tell you guys. We are projecting that the patch and the Protector Trials will be ready to cert in December and I'm happy to announce that they will be available free to the community.
    Utter patheticness. It's been over 4 months from the date of this post and over 2 since the projected release date and still nothing. This is like a soap opera, or worse. Soap operas at least have some fans... such long and lousy development has no fans.

    Let me get this straight. You did a PS3 and XBOX360 build and then did what... remove the maps from your HDDs and had to restart from an early WIP or something? Please. Development of content takes place on PCs which MEANS you should have a fairly ready to run build already. If you don't... I just lack words to describe this.

    You mean this, I have no doubts about it. But you need to understand. You try not to disappoint gamers, but you fail miserably. With such actions, you'll only make your fanbase smaller than it is now. The morale drop and distrust present in this thread now is proof to this.

    Well, it's not December. It's March. And it didn't happen. And yes, as I have said before, you failed miserably. You could at least have the civil courage to admit it in front of us.

    As you can see, it's not just me -- other PC players also feel discriminated... Gaming on PC should be a pleasure, not a struggle, and you people at 2K Marin seem to have chosen "struggle" for us.

If you admit that the playlist is an issue (albeit a less important one), but aren't going to do anything about it, then why hasn't the DLC been made unavailable for purchase? Neglecting to take it down only shows that 2k is happy with letting the money trickle in from this unplayable pack which doesn't meet the standards of the majority of consumers. I'm sure that little time or money would go into making such a small change as removing it from the list of available DLC. I still stand by my decision to buy only used 2K games and none of the DLC until this issue is resolved, since I have no guarantees in the future that my money will go toward content that will at some point function as expected.

If they had actually addressed the issue early on, they wouldn't be put into this situation now.

    Like I've been saying, this patch is fantastic news for PC fans, but the lack of a playlist is still hurting players on the PC, 360 and PS3. Why fix one major problem but not another? The Vending Machine sounds don't matter at all and no one really cares, but we payed good money for the DLC so we could play on the multiplayer maps and months after its release, we still can't.

    2K really needs to either refund and make it free (thus allowing for more players to use the maps, and allow us to actually have random matches in them) or find some other way for us to ensure playing them.

I realize that the company hates the idea of not receiving money retroactively, but there will be far less profit if future players of BS2 get shafted repeatedly by buying Metro. As such, complaints will continue to come in, which will go unresolved, leaving a bad taste in the mouth of every person who purchased/will purchase the pack.

    Still no word on how you're going to make it up to all of us that bought the Rapture Metro?

    What part of these sentences (especially the bold/underlined part) do you people at 2K fail to understand? Rapture Metro is a product we paid for and yet it's practically absent from public matches, the achievements in there are practically unavailable to us because you REFUSED to make a playlist/patch for the pack. From my point of view, this is an act of fraud. The refusal to fix this problem is IMO unlawful. And where fraud is present, consequences follow.

    All right -- screw the vending machine sounds. They're cosmetics. But the Rapture Metro playlist is something you owe us, whether you like it or not. See my previous remark.

    No. No respect for such behavior. We want to know what is being looked into, period. There is a crapload of bugs... I've had numerous crashes during the SP campaign that ruined the fun for me at least -- and I'm not the only one. MP -- I'm not even mentioning that any more (see: Rapture Metro question). And you can sure as hell bet on one thing: we WILL repeat stuff until you guys at 2K Marin start REALLY understanding what we want.

    Precisely. If a community support specialist cannot cope with honest community feedback, then such a person should either learn how to do it, or let someone else do it. Now, *I*, a paying customer, am calling you out. Tread carefully when approaching me -- or you just might lose a customer. Are we clear?

As I said in an earlier post, the patch won't fix the bugs for everyone (could be certain cpu or graphic cards that it might no work with). 2K had said this will be the last patch, so it needs to fix every bug they can. As far as some customers are concerned, "working on it" this time isn't good enough. They give every appearance of not learning a damned thing. The fans should have a right to know.
    My thoughts exactly -- no communication, empty, unkept promises. I would only change the word in the last sentence to: Customers should have a right to know. I am no longer a fan of yours -- how can I be, with such ATTITUDE towards me? With such disrespect, with such NERVE to give me or other users infractions for throwing the bitter truth right into your faces? Unprofessional -- well, protecting the individual at fault is unprofessional. The person responsible should be ostracized from the industry in order to protect us, gamers and CUSTOMERS from paying for unusable products and NOT EVEN GETTING REFUNDS.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    With all this said... it's been 4 months since the original post. It's been way longer since the decision of canceling the patch/DLC in the first place. It's been even longer since the initial news flash that promised Protector and Minerva release on PS3/XBOX360/PC -- and so far, only the console players can play the DLCs. But even they don't have the final patch, and neither do PC players. That sort of negligence is... horrific.
    With March 4th, 2011, 2K Marin has lost a fan. I will no longer support any 2K Marin-signed product... except for the DLCs for BioShock 2. I will continue to support other 2K family franchises I appreciate -- such as 2K-published DNF or Borderlands and perhaps more future titles. But a big NO for 2K Marin.
    If the authorities on this forum choose to approach this post in the wrong way, for example, by giving out an infraction, or banning me, I will refuse to buy ANY 2K product at all -- including BioShock 2 DLCs. Tread carefully.
    Friendly reminder: You don't need to repost everyone's comments in a huge mega-reply - if everyone did this, the thread would be unreadable and very spammish, so please, let's try to avoid that and keep conversation cohesive.
    I do want to let everyone know that if someone hasn't received a refund yet, they should contact me immediately and directly. Everyone should have already - Delacroix, if this isn't the case for you, please let me know. The build you downloaded was not a final product and wouldn't work on anyone's machine - again, apologies to anyone who was confused while it was briefly available.
    Stay on topic, please. Insulting other members, or staff, or threatening anyone isn't okay. Talking about moderation isn't allowed. Please discuss the upcoming DLC - let's all avoid further warnings and infractions. They aren't fun for anyone.
    You keep telling us to just talk about the DLC. Why are you avoiding any mention of the patch???????
    WHY IS YOUR AVATAR A JACK-O-LANTERN?! (just curious).
    On topic: I'm with a lot of other people. I'm completely sick and tired of all this waiting. I'll get both DLCs and the patch when the come out, but 2K has lost a customer. The last game I'll buy from them is BS:I, but that's just about it.
    Off topic tangent: Decided to use my universal avatar (I use it for my Steam account, Twitter, anything catchall) and it's a pumpkin I carved many a year ago that someone said was very like my personality. It's awesome and orange and surprised!
    More importantly: I understand where you are coming from, and trust me, absolutely no one here would rather wait than give you the content - as soon as it's completely through all the appropriate channels and tests, it will be ready for you to download. I'm sorry about the false alarm - I think that definitely made things much more irksome - but we're working on it, and I'm checking daily to see what's going on so when I do get the all-clear sign, I can post promptly.
