Russia getting double stuff from resources is an amazing ability and allows for rushing a huge civ which can work well. I have not played them yet but I plan to(currently playing as America)

Ottoman's have way better UU's but the UA is weak imo. I have gotten many tiremes/galleys but usually ended up disbanding them to reduce maintenance. Now that disbanding has been nerfed it would make their UA even weaker. They are still not a weak civ just because of how strong Janisarries are.
Still voted for Russia despite their UU being late, kind of weak and a dead-end technologically. Their UA giving extra production and resources is significant enough to tip the scales.
Russia's UA and UB are simply great.
I mean the UB is almost like having Angkor Wat in every of your cities.

Wow Ottoman is getting its butt whiped, hey any one else see this vote and post about your favorite civ.
Not enough people have voted in this match for my liking. So vote, for the civ you think is better.
I have always asked you to post your vote, so now it is my turn.
I picked Ottoman becease I don't like Russia.
The Ottoman empire is similar to the English in that a lot of their usefulness is conditional. I imagine the Ottomon empire could be close to godlike on a fractal/archipelago map, especially with Raging Barbarians. You might be inclined to keep a few "barbarian farms" around to try and steal more advanced ships later in the game.
What really hurt them was that large navies weren't really necessary, and I would argue that they are still not very necessary now. AIs appear to have gotten a lot better at building navies with the latest patch, but they are still shy about crossing the oceans and then lack the surgical precision to properly utilize naval bombardments. They don't even work to blockade you....
Edit: And what happened to water harrassment? Civs at war and barbarians should at least try and pillage my fishing boats.
