game crashes loading old save - Not digital deluxe

    I've got 2 old saves, pre-patch

    one is working just fine.
the other is not, at all.

it's a game I had to stop cause it was crashing all the time with the too many cities bug. So I thought I could finish it now that the patch fix this problem.

But each time I load it, I have a runtime error then this message:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: CivilizationV_DX11.exe
    Application Version: 1.0.0.62

I also tried it with directx9 and I have this message :

it should not be a corrupted save, I could still use it before the patch. If I was lucky, sometimes it didn't crash on loading (just when I conquered a city)

    nice, no answer at all

I guess I will never finish this savegame
I shouldn't even have bought the game in the first place...

    What answer were you expecting?

When the patch was announced, they came out and blatantly stated, that corrupted save files, would remain so, and would not be recoverable.

Its very possible, you have a corrupted save file.

It's not easy to find out whether your savegame was corrupted or not, whether the crash is a result of a corrupted game file or not. I've got a save game file myself which I could play for 300+ more turns (Marathon) taking out two more factions and now I am stuck at a 100% crash situation again. Don't want to run into such situation again in my next Huge Marathon game.

I've got the exact same problem. Old saved file pre-patch will no longer load up.

It's not always corruption or the too many cities bug, but more problems in their code.

Since the patch, I can't load any of my saved games that worked fine in 1.0.0.20. Other than some driver issues with my GTX 260 Core 216's in SLI requiring me to run some things at Medium, the game functioned.

I have 10 autosaves, 2 local saves, and 1 steam cloud save all between Turn 865-899 which all worked fine pre-patch in 1.0.0.20 and now will not load regardless of DX9/10/11 or settings since patching to 1.0.0.62.

If you have the Deluxe Digital edition as I do, then all is not lost. It's a bug with the patch to be fixed on Monday.
