Game won't start; Crash

Bought the game three days ago, played 4 hours so far without problems.

Since this morning the actual game won't load, I can choose to go on or restart the mission, but the best result I can get is the mission's loading symbol followed by the crash with the windows message.

Haven't installed anything since the installation nor changed anything.

OS: Win 7 pro (64bit)
CPU: i7 2.8GHz
Ram: 6GB
ati 5700 series (driver is up to date)

A patch, which was released via Steam today, causes these crashes.
Not so much more info is available right now...

I'm having same problem. Played Mafia II. for 30 hours and since this morning my game crashes every time I select Story mode or Jimmy's Vendetta.

The only fix right now is to start a new game. Or wait until who knows when if it will get fixed.

I'd suggest everyone experiencing the problem open support desk tickets with 2K. The likely fact is that *EVERYONE* is affected by this complete lack of basic QA, and they should hear about it loudly.

I cant confirm that - tried loading a game this morning (ca 3 hrs ago) and Steam did not update nor was the game functioning - again, it crashed from the loading screen.
