Ressources - a lot of horses

Just notices that i had 152 horses available, to use.

I play a Duel map (larger maps crashes (will return if still a problem after the upcomming update)) as Darius/Persia. The total map has 18 horses of which 12 are within my culturalzone. I don't have any buildings that increase the amount of natural ressources, and I don't have the policies of fascism or cultural diplomacy. my relations towards the City-states ain't higher than the Æstetics policy, makes it.

Bug or unbalance, I think 152 is to many.

    Ha! Only 152?
I play Catherine on marathon and have some resources bonuses but check this out:
I sold extra horses to other civs and after contract expired I received a message about it. Then next couple turns later, again, same message.
And then my horses started to multiply like bloody rabbits. Almost every turn I had a message about my deal expiring and extra horses added.

I got greedy and exploited this situation. I started offering large amount of horses to civs even with horses on their own.
I could get anything I wanted for 999 horses per transaction.( even from hostile civs). More transactions I had-guess what: more multiplied horses I had.

After over 1000 turns (circa 20th century) I ended up with around 500 000 horses. I thought: " I am a horse masta'! wait... this doesn't sound that good...."

I thought this bug is somehow connected with Russia's resources bonus but it looks like it's something more. Then I got never ending peace treaty with my biggest rival and I didn't feel like playing that game anymore.

I started new one on epic pace and I got "always crash to desktop" at the same turn ( turn 237) bug. So, as much as I enjoy the game, I'd like to wait for a patch before I start new civilization.

For me the repeating message that a deal has ended´, normally stops after 5-6 turns.

But regarding my horses: For strategic reasons I din't trade with him.
He (arab) had no access to horses, and non of us had iron, so din't want him to get camel archer that was superior to units i could build.
So the reason why my horses reproduce them selfs is not trade related.

In my first game I had fears that CPU having actually more advanced army than me will kick my a$$ however very quickly I noticed that he would make basic tactical mistakes so on Prince or King level AI is rather easy to fight.

I haven't played on higher levels yet but it doesn't look like it's going to be better.

Looks like they put old dumb fighting AI from Civ 4 ( anybody can stack 30 units and attack ) and used it in more advanced warfare of CiV.

Back to horses: Can you pinpoint at which moment it started adding horses?

When you first connected them to your trade network maybe?

HA!, I have a Marathon game going where I'm at 1111 horses and 1127 iron, after a trade agreement expired. Was waiting for the client to crash as the numbers started jumping, but its stable for now.

No i don't know when i happend. I have loaded the earliest autosave, but it happend before that.

I don't think its the trade network because resources do not recuire to be connected to the trade network.

And the amount of horses is (besides 12 2/3 times too many) stable.

Ohh. Just recalled that i did make a deal about open borders with the arabs so i could explore his territory. horses might have been a part of that deal.
