10% mp, getting over the hump - the 3 Key Fixes
10% play mp so in theory 10% of resources are devoted to developing this feature (oversimplification but maybe not too far off)
The reality is that a balanced, stable, and easy to access Civ5 MP would be VERY VERY popular and enjoyed by a huge % of people fortunate enough to discover it. But there are a few things key to this that wouldnt even be hard to add.
1: Multiplayer lobby - let fans moderate it. Civplayers.com is a community of some 500 league players that has many that would. As is there are tons of people popping in and out of region based open games - these games have no structure, no order, and are ultimatly very dissapointing - please give these players an opportunity to discover that civ5 mp can be fun.
2: MP crash issues, frustration can lead to loss of mp players. Aside from general stability/bug fixes it would help if we could see a read on a players pc rating and ping. an 8 player game is usually ruined by someone that can easily pre-launch appear as "Red" , give 8 greens a fighting chance.
3: Gameplay mechanics. Balance issues aside, there is only one aspect that breaks MP, easily fixed, and would do WONDERS for it. Make auto turn happen at the "beggining" of a turn. This puts the favor into smart tactics and planning as you pre-set your next turns "happen right away" moves rather than it becoming a click/lag/cpu/performance win fest. I shouldn't have to replace my mouse every 20mp games...
4* a last min 4th, players don't "end turn" because they can't react to enemy moves after hitting it. Can we enable unit movement even after end turn is hit?
Please please please please PLEASE for the sake of MP address these 4 key issues, we can mod/balance the rest but we cant fix those.

We also need fixes for:
-Bugged lobbies: players being unable to "ready up", players not being able to see everyone in the lobby.
-Bugged games: Being unable to move at the start of a game; People getting booted from the game for no reason; desyncs, etc
-AI difficulty: We can't set the difficulty of AI in multiplayer games. That's just retarded, especially given how broken and easily-exploitable the AI is in the current state of the Civ V alpha testing experience(tm).
-End of turn lag: A fix for the ENORMOUS lag (apparently caused by AI workers) between turns.
