3D graphics - ruins everything, gives nothing?
Main issues with Civ5 are graphics-related. Game is extremally resource-hungry (especially memory), requires significantly better computers that it is said in "official" system requirements and gives nothing. Exactly.
It's a step back from Civ4 where you could rotate camera (45 deg left/right only, but still). No you have tremendous amount od 3D graphisc that is not needed, does not look good and requires ridiculous PC.
What is the purpose of implementation of 3d graphics if ona cannot even rotate camera? Puny zoom is the only given function. Units could be dispalyed as animated gifs and noone would notice difference.
Maybe it's time to think is 3D really needed in game (ofc it is not needed everywhere), and if 3D engine is used maybe palyers should have some benefeits?
According to logic presented in Civ5 soon one will need CoreEight, 128GB ram, and 4x GeForce 580GTXproimbasuperduper to play "Solitaire" or "Minesweeper"...
