    Steam Won't Let Me Install !

    I bought a retail DVD of the game and now I can't play because Steam won't let me install!

    We bought it with a friend of mine (two seperate ones of course) and went to his house. I've brought my laptop and I installed it fine on my laptop (although it took ages). My friend however wasn't able to install it because
    this happened:

    every single time after waiting this to finish:

    Now I went to home to install the game on MY desktop and now I'M THE ONE with the same problem.
    We tried everything (reinstalling steam, reinstalling the game, deleting local cache, deleting steam folder, cleaning up registry etc. etc. etc.)
    What in the name of the Nine Hells is going on?! Another friend of mine just pirated the game and he's LAUGHING at us...

    Hmmm... I guess the moral of the story is:

    Call the cops on your friends?

    Just what the hell are you talking about?

    Oh and BTW, the game JUST RANDOMLY DECIDED to install itself after 5 DAMN HOURS of retrying-deleting local content-retrying routine. I guess I must appreciate that I'm finally able to play a game I've spent 120 TRY on!

    The moral of the story should be: Wait for a month before buying any new steam exclusive game because Steam is a worthless piece of crap technology that just isn't there yet...

    Nope moral of the the story is to buy and install the game on a day that will be less busy

    I heard that a new game was released today and Steam was being overloaded by everyone logging in / playing / installing
