    My thoughts on Civ...

The Sept 21 release date had been set since late spring. 2K games hounds Firaxis to keep the release date because they want the profits from that quarter.
Firaxis knows the game is unfinished but dosnt want to upset their overlord{2K games}by pushing back the release date.
We are force fed phrases like "socially responsible"{lack of manual},"streamlined gameplay"{things mysteriously left out}to cover the games shortfalls.
Multiplayer is pretty much unplayable due to connectivity issues, simultaneous turns and no combat animations among other things.
I would think if they knew all this how come they didnt have a release day patch to fix a lot of the major issues.?

Its the new "in" thing you pay for something you only receive half of it, then you just wait weeks and hope for some huge patches.

Hey. Microsoft proved they can pull it off with Windows Vista. It's free game.

Actually its been the "in" thing since the internet became faster and more people have access. Youll start seeing this more and more in consoles as well, since most are going online now. Use to be a PC/console game had to be released working, there was still bugs and glitches, but it was normally playable. PC games are the worst when it comes to pushing something out the door, then fix it with patches later. While i know there is always going to be compatibility issues since computers vary alot from home to home, the game mechanics should be up and working and playable if your lucky enough to have a system that is not one of the problem ones. This waiting for balance, and number of bugs that have to be correct just sorta makes me wonder, who if anyone play tested this.

No no no, that was SO two weeks ago.

Now the "in" thing is to randomly whine about it on the forums.

People who shell out 50$ a pop deserve a finished product..i dont call that randomly whining.
It is our right as a paying customer to complain about the unfinished product.
Judging by the sales from the last 2 weeks 2k and firaxis brought in load of cash and why they didnt have a release day major patch is confusing. As long as sheeple like you follow along without making our voices heard they wil will continue the same behaviors.
    Case closed.........

I would rather pay more for a finished product, then less for a crappy one. Trust me in the long run its better to have the best product. Brand value has suffered because of this. The next expansion or game 2k makes, I am going to be really conservative about buying it, getting several opinions before I fork over the cash. I may even wait until several patches come out...if thats their strategy its dumb, eventually I will stop buying there games.

Wondering if a 2K mod will comment on this thread, probably not...
