    Civ 5 doesn't work after the update, please help

    Civ 5 was working a few days ago until the patch. Below you may find the message.

    The crash happens right after the 2k logo appears. The video keeps playing, but closes when the crash notification box is dismissed.

    Smile Solved!

    Oh hey, found a fix, Steam file verification:

    http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/sho...52&postcount=6

    One file was deemed corrupt and redownloaded, but after relaunching Steam the game started working.

    Dunno if this is a universal fix for this condition, but try it.
