So i purchased a collectors edition of Civ 5 today, i try installing the game however and can only get as far as when steam tries to launch (accept the terms of agreement, get prompted with a message where steam is being installed then my steam starts 'updating') update stays at 0% for about 2 mins then i get a message saying: 'Steam is temporarily unavailable, please try again later'
Urgent help required!!!

You could try deleting everything in the Steam folder apart from Steam.exe and the Steamapps folder.
Then run the steam.exe file.

TechJohn. When looking into this for another forum user earlier I discovered his issue was one affecting Steam services provided on the network 180.87.*.* located in Australasia and affecting people from the region. This is almost certainly a local hardware failure of some kind but there is a solid workaround available by selecting your Steam server manually as discussed http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/...wnload-region/
