Problems with the Custom scenario map.

Hey guys I've recently just made a custom scenario map using the world builder. I load it from the mods -> single player -> and then load scenario, and I start the game, the game itself just crashes.

Here is the reasons I thought of:
    1. The map I made has too much things in it/too big

    2. My computer's being retarded.

    3. My game is just being retarded.

Without any other information, all I can suggest is something that used to make maps I created in Civ IV crash every time - if I created maps without water or rivers!

This might be the same in Civ V, along with other things - the AI might be having a spazz attack with "core" features necessary to actually play on a map missing - try adding a small blob of water, or if you already have, make sure your map has a few rivers dotted around, a small blob of forest, make sure there's some strategic resources dotted around etc. - it might be related to the game working out "automated start positions" for players, or it might be related to the AI working out how to play on the map it's been given.

I'm curious about this too. I made a map in WorldBuilder but it looks like you have to convert it into a scenario with a third program before you can play on it. Unless there's a fourth program to validate it. Not sure, if I figure it out I'll post an update.

You most certainly don't have to, as my map works brilliantly (except that "random" start positions don't seem to be quite that random... I've been put at the same forestless river with the Iroquois whenever I started a match, regardless of start bias deactivated or not :P).

    Couple of things: -
It appears that the Maps you create need to be the exact size in terms of Hexes in the X, Y axis as the predefined Tiny, Small, Standard etc that are available in the game otherwise when you "publish the Scenario" the map shows up highlighted in RED. In addition, is unusable.
I think I’ve seen that the map sizes are defined in a game file and using a different size map from those predefined will not work.

This works for me – for a Scenario using the standard rules.
Game loaded in default directory – Steam installed – and run at least once to create “Sid Meier’s Civilization 5” directory structure under “MY GAMES”
Mod Tool loaded in default directory – Steam installed”.

Load the Game and decide on map size – other parameters do not matter. SAVE MAP using option in SAVE GAME, dialogue.
MAP is save in MAPS directory under “Sid Meier’s Civilization 5” directory

    EXIT GAME
    LOAD – World builder
Edit map etc… and Scenario parameters. DO NOT SCALE.
    SAVE MAP.

    Open ModBuddy
    Select - FILE – NEW – PROJECT
In the NEW PROJECT WINDOW, select Map Pack
Fill in the form – NEXT
At MAPS – ADD your MAP from the place you saved it.
    CLICK FINISH.

    THEN SELECT “BUILD”
This adds the standard info and – if you are using the default directories copies your completed “MOD” to the MODS directory under the “Sid Meier’s Civilization 5” directory – and creates a directory with your Mods name.

    LOAD GAME
    Select Mods.
    ACCEPT
Browse Mods – you should see your mod “name” – ensure radio button is GREEN and ticked.
    BACK to SET UP GAME
    Click MAPS
Scroll to your map name – if it’s RED the map will not play – otherwise select map – TICK the load Scenario button and
    START SENARIO.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++
Once you have done this once you can edit the map – change it – and you only need to copy the map to the scenario directory in the mod folder. No need to build etc…
