Game crash is related to the UI (esp. save game menu)

My game will often crash when trying to save a game (quicksave is fine).

It's not always when *actually* saving the game (though is sometimes) but purely brining up the save game menu whilst playing will cause a hang about 25% of the time, either before, after or during the save.

This can also happen when viewing City State messages (by clicking on the 'pop-up' icon or City), but seems much less prevalent.

Hope this is fixed soon. Really loving the game aside from these crashes.

No worries. Have you ensured that the steam.exe file and the exe for the game are running as administrator?

I am the only user on this computer and I am the 'Administrator.' However I know from past experience that that's often not enough for Windows...

I have now set 'Run as admin' for the Steam.exe and both CivV ones (standard and Dx11).

If you set steam to run as admin, it gives you a message warning you about doing that. Are you sure that's a good suggestion to try?

Is it a good idea to do this or not? Based on 413x3's comment I didn't set it.

This bug (also crashing when viewing Civilopedia now...) is beginning to drive me nuts!

EDIT: If possible I'd really appreciate it if someone at 2K/Firaxis could please comment as to whether this is a known issue and there is a fix in the works.
