    Game Freeze/Hangs - REPEATABLE - v.20 Huge Map 68 or 69 cities -

This freeze is repeatable every time

    Turn 328 (1908 AD)
    Huge Map

Played for 20 hours until late Sunday on v.17 and seemed fine
v.20 applied on Monday through Steam

Now freezes within 2 turns of continuing game - consistent behaviour rebooted/reloaded latest turn file and continues to freeze (save game file available if needed). I have included the event viewer errors from the 4 freezes below.

I have 68 or 69 cities and am at war. The turn it freezes I also Annex further cities

Based on other people having similar issues I am assuming the error is due to number of cities rather than applying 0.20 patch, however I have not had the chance to try playing some turns and not conquering more cities to determine if the number of cities is actually the trigger for the freeze.

When the game freezes the old man on the intro screen is visible (as per experience of other posters)

People have reported problems with conquering more than 69 cities for a while now, indeed I believe since launch; so it wasn't introduced in a patch as the other issues. Obviously the game can't handle that many cities. You will have to play on smaller maps until they fix it. And before you ask, there is no time frame on anything; but if I had to guess, I'd say your patch is weeks away at the very least.

I'm wondering if this is a similar crash to what I am experiencing as well. It also has to do with Cities.

Although I'm positive my game was crashing Sunday night too - I thought Monday's patch would solve my problem, it did not.

    ----

I crash whenever I try to trade a city to another civilization. Weird thing is, in my game I've already traded cities with the other AI and it worked - Even one time it crashed, I waited a few turns, then did the trade...it was fine.

This time however, that solution does not work and whenever the Persia accepts the trade I crash to desktop and the background is not the old man, but it does look like the first scene from the intro movie.

Civ 5 has only ever else crashed once, randomly.

My game is also on a Huge map, turn 550 in the modern era.

Can someone please download my save game here (or at URL at bottom) and try to trade cities (see below for instruction) and see if that crashes you as well?

---Not at my home PC at the moment so i can't post DXDIAG or w/e but I seriously feel like my PC is not the problem.

    Love civ 5!!!!!

    (Instructions for trade):

When you launch the game, i usually jump right into the trade. The trade is with Persia, for the following cities:

Hamburg and Aejin (i think) - if i have Aejin wrong, I KNOW it was Hamburg and another city.

I ask for, from Persia is for gold and some gold per turn.

Once Persia accepts the trade, and the text dialog box says as such, the game hangs for a split second the screen changes to the movie background and then crashes.

    Save game: http://www.2shared.com/file/DuJeoIHJ/hugegood.html

(first time using 2shared, the download link is kind of small...here is the text you should look for to download the actual file

Save file to your PC: click here
