Thumbs down I demand Parity Pricing

    Dear 2K Games
I signed up just to post this … shame it will get locked
    I was going to purchase Civilization 5 and Mafia II through Steam until I noticed that you are taking the same stand as other thieving corporations such as EA and Activision;

    Civ 5 USA Pricing: $49.99 Australia: $89.99
Mafia II USA Pricing: $49.99 Australia: $89.99

And please, do not do me the disservice of attempting to explain that the cost of distribution is different because of the various time zones or some other rubbish. No, you just believe that Australia is some back-water town full of hicks and snakes without the internet. Not so, No more money from me I’m afraid. I’m sad to see you go the way of the greed; being a big fan of the Civ series and having played the original Mafia, I was looking forward to playing those games. No wonder others feel the need to obtain these games from other … less than reputable sources. Yeah, that’s what happens when you rip people off … they get upset and then get their games elsewhere … God, marketing people are thick sometimes.

There you can find Mafia 2 for $48-$67 depending on your platform.

You can also find Civ 5 for $60.

They did it with Bioshock 2 and Borderlands as well. The only thing you can do is jump on the game the day it goes up for pre-order and snatch it at the parity US price before they realise they forgot to rape us Aussies as usual.

USD and AD are diffrent. USD is better than AD, and Pounds are better than USD.

That is not true, both prices are in USD, therefore they are paying more.

I always recommend CD WOW, they are good sellers and very reasonable for international customers.

There seriously needs to be an IQ test to post on the internet. Now pay close attention to the following.

Here's a lesson for you to impress your grade 2 teacher with:

    1. US to AU conversion is about 0.85-0.9 cents to the dollar
    2. The game costs 49.99 USD on a US IP
    3. The game costs 79.99 USD on an aussie IP
    4. 79.99 USD = 79.99 / 0.9 = 88 AUD

There is no tax on digitally purchased games AFAIK. = $30 USD - Valve cut straight into 2k's pockets over the top of what they get from US gamers. Absolute BS. Same bits and bytes. Doesn't cost them a cent more to host as it's the same server, no currency conversion cost.

    DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

I guess not. Probably isn't in your bible so it is unholy or some rubbish.

    Exclamation

    You 'Demand'?
Just who do you think you are?
Why don't you get off your fat ass and actually make the effort to search for the best prices online?
For your info I got Mafia 2 Brand new on PC for $25 including postage, sure I could have paid more had I gotten it through the Steam store but I am not stupid, I rather get it on DVD and save... just because it used Steam is no barrier to saving money, you just have to know where to look, where the bargains are...
    Now go back to kindergarten.
