[SOLVED] .20 Does NOT fix mod installation

    Hello

As per the patch notes in the sticky:
•Modding - Installer and permissions fixes. Should address any remaining mod download and install issues.

It does not. I can still download the mods but can not install them.

Just thought you should know 2K and Firaxis since you are under the impression that it should fix the download and install issues of the mods.

Didn't work for me before, had to do it manually, but after the patch it works as intended here now.

After the mod is downloaded you have to go to "Installed Mods" and click the button "Install Mods".

Hey City Builder, please let me know if you tried doing what Nitrius suggested above.

Ooopa, Sorry, I didn't click the Install Mods because I did not see any listed.

    It does indeed work now.

    My appologies.

I used the "Simple Clock" as an example.
I download it, and it completes. It then sits in the "Downloads" tab. There all I can do is click "close" to remove it from there.

I then switch to the "Installed" tab and there's nothing apart from the "Back" button. Nowhere to click, nowhere to install.

There is no "Install Mods" button for me.

    Update.

    Damn.

It was my bad-choice in mods.
The Legion mod and Earth-maps both DID work.

But the Clock simply won't. And it's the only mod on there I'm actually interested in. *sighs*

Downloading and installing Simple Clock works here.

Try to go to(Windows 7): C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS and delete all the files and try to download the mod(s) again.

How does one retrieve downloads. I had thought they were automatic.

I'm not sure anyone understands your question. I didn't.

Download and installation occur in game, with the possible exception of the bugged clock mod. The mod file is downloaded to your
    ..\[My] Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS folder

The file will have a long name/extension. Which you can unzip using 7-zip (for example). But you normally don't need to do any of that, as it is supposed to all work from in-game now.

How does one confirm that one got a download in general (such as for bug fixes)? Does a version number appear in the game?

Also, does it make a difference if one bought from D2D versus Steam, since each has different packages?

You can open up windows explorer, and go to the my documents\my games\ sid meiers civilization 5\ MODS folder and see if anything is in there. Other than that, when it's working as expected, there will be a list of mods that have been downloaded in the installed window of the mods browser.

I don't think it matters where you bought it, as it still have to run on steam

The version number is on the main options screen at the bottom after launching the game, if that is what you are asking.
