Its play starcraft 2. Also the computer was ahead of its time. So I doubt civ 5 is so much for it that it cant run it.

What does a 1.8 ghz duo top out on? 2.2.-2.7? The quad cores are topping off at 3.0-3.5? The video card shouldnt be an issue. I can turn down the graphics.

Just as a guideline, the 9800 is an EIGHT year old card

I think well below is and exageration. I think there is a launch problem. Every time i check the intergrity of the game im always missing a file. I also can find that run file that the other thread was talking about. scud_run or something like that. ITs nowhere to be found.

A 1.8 Core duo is magnitudes more powerful than a P4

    its not a multiplication equation

I know its not. Im sure though the duo core tops off at less than 3 or at 3.

No ones thinks its another problem like maybe the game wasnt formatted properly for windows xp sp3? Generally people with windows xp are having the problems.

    At 3, WHAT?

And it doesnt matter WHEN you bought it, its 8 year old technology.

No Ghost, generally People with XP arent.

My post count, in its entirety, is looking at peoples PCs who cant play the game.

The MAJORITY, are people with older PCs, under spec

The MAJORITY of those, run XP

This creates an illusion, that there may be an XP problem.

When you move on to machines that are ABLE to run the game, there is no one OS thats in the lead for issues

Are you a computer engineer/tech? Its says your a supreme member. No offense unless you have a degree in computer technology im not gonna take your opinion with nothing more than a opinion. Anyway I gotta new pc coming in. Im still banking on the idea that this game is made with bugs just like CIV REVOLUTION.

    There is no opinion here.

Minimum is Radeon HD 2600 - you have 9800
Minimum is Dual Core Processor, you dont have one
Minimum is 2 GB RAM, you dont have one.

I dont need a background, to tell you that us helping you is a waste of our time, when we can be assisting people who have machines that are equipped to run the game.

You are trying to put a Xbox game, into a Super Nintendo

Its more like putting an xbox game in an xbox 360. Its possible with a format file.

To launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
    Click on Start
Click on Run (In Vista/7 just type dxdiag in the search field)
Type in: dxdiag Hit Enter or OK
From there select the button marked as Save All Information and save the text file it creates.
Open that file and copy the information from the top to just after the display adapter information. Then paste that into your reply, but the only way that would make any difference is if the information you posted at the start was completely incorrect.
