questions on co-op multiplayer

two questions

1) If you want to play cooperatively with another human player against AI, is there an easy way to establish to the game that you are a team? We tried at least doing open borders but it keeps expiring and we have to keep redoing it which is kind of annoying.

2) Is there a way to share mapdata with another human player?

When you create the game select both players on Team One in the corner of your names..?

That should do it, players have to have the same team number in the staging room.
