    Confused (many questions)

    Hi to all,

I read through the various FAQs and threads but I'm a bit confused on if and how to purchase Civ5.
I'm a hardcore fan, and I usually play Civ4 in LAN game mode. If I understand correctly, there is a DRM and a DRM-less version of Civ5 available. I'm not interested in internet-multiplay mode, only LAN. Which version should I choose? Do I need to buy 2 copies to play with another person at home, or will 1 copy be enough?

Another question, is the game multilanguage? I live in the Netherlands, but I'd like the english version. Where is the best place to buy it?

Last question (thanks for your patience), I have a 2009 MacBook, I'm willing to install bootcamp and windows to be able to play Civ5, but will the game run smoothly or should I also add some RAM? I have 2gb now, has anyone else here tried the game on this configuration?

    Thank you very much!
    Marcello

Ifi understand what you mean right:
You have to use Steam. There is no Steam-less version, and will not be. Steam is the DRM, i think.
There is no hotseat at the moment, so yes, you'll need 2 copies of the game and 2 computers to play with buddy.
Have you tried systemrequirementslab to test if you can run? For me it was very informative.

And I think there are multiple languages, but i'm not sure about yours.

You may be mistaking the 'DRM-less version' for the ability to play the game in Steam Offline mode. You still have to activate the game once online through Steam. After that you can set the game to play in Offline mode in Steam and you don't need any internet connection.

However, to play on two computers legally I believe you need two copies of Civ V even if you never play online and the computers are in the same room/house.

I am not sure if it's multilanguage - during install I got to choose from a list of languages, but I am not sure if they were just for the installer or the game itself.

But you should be able to choose English language regardless of where you buy your copy from, I believe.
