Civilization V Help

[Maul]

I just installed Civilization V, to start with it was running perfectly, but then i started to get black squares on my screen, everytime i moved my cursor the black squares spread and eventually my computer crashed. I am now struggling to get past the cinematic before it crashes.

My computer is correctly specced for the game
My Graphics drivers are up to date
My RAM is fine
I am using Windows Vista, if that makes a difference.
