    Anyone tried Civilization V, yet?

Has anyone in the X-COM, XCOM, or Xenoshock communities tried Civ 5 yet?

I've downloaded the demo but haven't fired it up.

It has gotten pretty good reviews, considering it is just an old-fashioned turn-based strategy game.

I've encountered a few bugs, but nothing gamebreaking so far, it's a lot of fun, you know, your classic Civ game.... *trying really hard not to say some things about keeping games true to the original*

Tried the demo, seems pretty solid. Loved the city states. Battles are interesting...

Can't really say how it compares to the others, I only played the first two Civ games lol...

One thing about the reviews, specifically the IGN one...I hate how their 1-10 scale is more of a 1-5 scale. Always in the 6-10 range unless it's REALLY bad.

And to top it off, the reviewer said it was Good, but not Great, then proceeded to give it an Outstanding score. *facepalm*

I was happily surprised that the demo worked on my system. I had been using an Geforce 8600 until it failed on me. I then put my old Geforce 6900 back in until I can get a new card. The demo is definitely playable. It was fun telling Alexander the Great to "Git off my Land!"

It just makes me remember when Microprose released the original Civ, Master of Orion, and another little known alien-fighting turn-based game whose name I can't seem to recall. Good times, good times.
