Cannot start game.

Hello, Zodai here.

So, I come back home from getting the game.

I rush STRAIGHT to my computer to start the game.

I put the disc in, and...

...

Nothing happens.

Nothing popped up, no installation screen came up, NOTHING.

Anyone know how they can help me out on this?

Try manually double-clicking "setup.exe".

Can you try to explore the dvd and run the file setup.exe .

Ok...Where do I do that? I'm not sure how to explore the DVD actually.

Oh, and I've tried the E drive AND D Drive. And I made a steam account. Just wanted to state I've already tried that. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: I think I found it in the Run zone. However, whenever I do it, it says please insert disc into drive D, even though the disc is already IN Drive D. And it usually takes a long time before saying that.

ok heres the question do you have a dvd drive? or a cd drive?

im not sure if they released a cd version but if your running an older system you might have a cd drive and no dvd drive
in which case you wont be able to read the disc

I'm not actually sure which one I have.

On my thing, there's two ports for inserting discs - One says DVD Rom or something like that, the other says Compact Disc. Am I missing the one I need, or am I not? I used both already.

ok first off the only one that will work for the game as far as i know is the dvd rom so that's definitely the one you want to use.

so stick the game in the dvd drive and if it doesn't start try and run the game by going to "my computer" and the clicking on your dvd drive it should say
"DVD RW DRIVE (D: ) Civilization V" the (D: ) might also be (E: )

right click on the drive and select auto-run that should start it up

also in-case this doesn't work here's another way to get the game going first you need steam

go there install steam and set up an acct if you don't have it already
once you've installed steam and set up an acct run it go to game library and select add game enter your cd key from the back page of the manual and then download and install from there
