    MP not saving settings

Ok i originally posted in the general since this forum wasn't here then , so my problem is this (hoping to find out if anyone else having this issue). The wife and I played a mp game last night with the settings set to private game and the difficulty set to settler.

When we tried to load the game back up, we can find the saved game and it loads, but now it is set to prince and no longer a private hosted game. We tried 2 more games and both had the same issue, it's as if our setting will not save, dosn't matter who host the game.

Anyone else having this issue? Or are we just missing something else? Just dosn't seem like it would be designed that way, otherwise you wouldn't be able to continue MP games with friends and such.

    Thanks for any information.

wow thats impressive that you were able to find a saved game! I dont mean to hijack the thread but when my wife played a lan match we were unable to find any saved games...

I havn't tried LAN yet, but we played Internet, then you have to go into Host Game as if to play a new game, down at the bottom is the option to Load Game....you should see your MP game there, when we loaded ours everything seems to be fine, but the settings were set to prince (from settler) and instead of a private game, it seems to now be set to public (hence my post )

We just got done playing another MP game for a few house, this time I'm trying ctrl+s to save the game manually.

I had this happen today when loading up a save. Just create a new game and choose the save by clicking load game. Put the match on private and invite the other person via Steam. Yes in the lobby I had it show as Prince for difficulty, but once the game loaded everything was the way it should be. You can hit the ESC key and at the bottom of that window look and see if the difficulty returned to what you had originally chosen. Looks like a bug at the moment. Hope that helps.

CTRL+S will allow you to save your MP game. However, there are two issues with loading the save:

    1) The save gets put in the "C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\multi\" folder. The Load Game button only looks in the "C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\multi\auto\" and "C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\multi\auto\prev" folders for saved games.

    2) The Load Game button only recognizes saved games that start with "AutoSave" or "OldAutoSave".

So, you need to either save or rename your save to begin with "AutoSave" (ex: AutoSave_OurGame). Then, you need to copy or move the save file into the \auto or \auto\prev folder.
