Question Should inactive threads be locked?

I guess a lot of us have noticed a lot of old threads being revived by new members in the last few days,Should inactive threads be locked after 7 days or so?

I say maybe after a Week, because the new members don't usually pay attention to how old the Thread is I remember one time on Gamespot I was new and I bump a thread that was two years old once but that was because I accidently had my settings to show the oldest Threads first, and I kept bumping more Threads until someone yelled at me.

The video thread was old, but I bumped it back up because I had a video I wanted to share, it's better than making a whole new thread. 3 weeks is good time, but even then, what's so bad about old threads being bumped? If they aren't discussion worthy, they'll fall back down again.

Threads can be bumped up even if they are ancient, as long as the response to keep it going is minimally meaningful. Like if someone wanted to add their experience playing STALKER after its already a year old, why not? But don't bump it just to say something akin to "me too" or "STALKER is a game I have fun playing LOLLZORZZ!"

I agree but I do have a problem when they bump a Thread that is old with something like "I agree" and don't actually have something to contribute, or just keep bumping a different one every minute.

Since the moderators ruthlessly close new threads on topics that have already been discussed what choice do you have but to revive an old thread?
