Computer crashes after playing for a few minutes

I can get into Civ 5 just fine, but after I play for a few minutes (usually between 5 and 20 minutes), the entire computer freezes. The speakers emit a buzzing sound and the monitor temporarily goes into standby. After a few seconds, the monitor comes back on and displays the blue screen of death. It's only up for a couple seconds (so I don't have time to read it) and then the computer turns itself off. My specs are as follows:

    Windows 7 64bit
    8GB DDR2 RAM
    Intel Core i5 CPU 2.67GHz
    Geforce GT 220

I've tried playing on minimal settings and in both windowed and non-windowed mode. No matter what I do, after a few minutes the computer crashes.

Below is the event log for the first crash:

Faulting application name: CivilizationV_DX11.exe, version: 1.0.0.7, time stamp: 0x4c92b5dd
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16559, time stamp: 0x4ba9b29c
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00038c19
    Faulting process id: 0x137c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cb5a050e6c60fc
    Faulting application path: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\CivilizationV_DX11.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
