    Can't Save!

Why can't I save my game? All I'm allowed to do is to use quicksave and steamcloud save, why can't I save the game normally?

Bit more information? Any messages etc...

I'd stick my neck out and say either Run as Admin or, you are doing it wrong

It has a save button, clicking on it doesn't do anything.

    Exclamation Solution

I found the solution on this website :
    http://segmentnext.com/2010/09/21/ci...y-tweak-fixes/

Here is what you have to do if you can’t save games on Local Hard Drive :

At your desktop, navigate to your “My Games” folder then to the “Sid Meier’s Civilization 5″ folder. Find the Config.ini file, right click and select “Edit”.

Scroll down to the section [Game], which is about 75% down the list. The third option under that is what you are looking for. It will look like this:

; Save Path – relative to working (Civ5) folder
    FileName =

You need to put in the directory location of the “Saves” folder in the blank spot after FileName =

It should then look similar to this (check your own directory, it is different on different OS):

    FileName = C:\Users\(Your Username)\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier’s Civilization 5\Saves\

Save the Config.ini file after your modification and congrats now you will be able to save games on your local hard drive.

btw does this permanently fix the issue? Because I was able to save locally and then mid-game (after i clicked on steam cloud) it stopped working.

Oh, man!! I have been posting EVERYWHERE about this problem and no one would answer me!! It has been a freakin' pain in the butt - but at least I can play the game, so I can't complain too much.

I'm going back to my game and I'll let you know how it goes!

    Thanks!
