    Crashes When Civilopedia Is Opened

Every time I open the Civilopedia the game freezes and crashes, no other problems observed so far (I got about 5 turns in before I tried to look something up, reloaded the initial autosave and opened the 'pedia and got a freeze and crash to desktop again, so it does not seem to be related to the turn or anything else other than the Civilopedia being opened).

I'm running on a Bootcamped Macbook Pro:

    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Core2 Duo @2.66GHz
    4 GB Ram
    GeForce 9600M GT

    Any suggestions?

You mentioned you're on Bootcamp. Have you tried installing nVidia's Windows 7 drivers from their website?

I get this on Windows 7

I have this same issue... about 50% of the time I open the civilopedia (either from a pop-up or from the menu bar at the top) the game freezes. Alt-Tab doesn't even work, so I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get back to the screen where I can see that "Civilization 5 has stopped responding."

    I'm still having issues

Windows confirmed my drivers were up to date... is no one else having this problem?

    Dx9 solved problem

I was using Dx10/11 (figured my GeForce GTX260 could handle 10, at least)... apparently there is just a little too much going on at times. It would also crash if multiple pop-ups occurred. Switched to Dx9, and no more crashes (don't really notice a decrease in performance either)...

I have the same problem and am using Windows Vista and an 8800GT with the newest Nvidia drivers.

I have 8800GT and had the same problem here. Just update your nvidia drivers and everything will run fine. I have also significantly improved my performance.
