    Video problems

I get flashing hexes all over the map, haven't made it past turn 5 with out the game crashing.....

Have to restart the game to change video settings?
Takes forever to skip the intro?

Using the DirectX 10 & 11 selection at start, tried various settings nothing seems to help, including defaults.

Go to "My Documents\My Games\Sid Meiers Civilization 5\" and open usersettings.ini in Notepad. About 15 lines down you will find "SkipIntroVideo = 0". Make this value 1 (to skip the intro movie).

Found this answer on how to skip the intro movie, so ignore that line please.
