Well one bug that's been ongoing but should be mentioned since the last patch stated it made MP AI function like SP AI. MP AI still never contacts human players (for trades, denouncements, etc.), which destroys any diplomacy in mixed AI-Human player games. If MP AI is truly supposed to be equal to SP AI (like the last patch notes said) this shouldn't be the case. If someone could pass on to the developers that MP AI never contacts human players I'd be very grateful.
I've been using Modbuddy successfully for months, including following the recent updates. Today, I launch the SDK but suddenly Modbuddy won't launch. No error messages. All other menu choices, Worldbuilder etc, launch fine, but Modbuddy just stares back at me. I tried re-installing Visual Studio - no difference. Please advise.
Additional info to yesterday's post re Modbuddy problem. I did not install the Korea DLC, but Modbuddy stopped working at ~the same time it was released. At first I could launch the SDK and all other menu options (such as Worldbuilder) but the Modbuddy IDE would not launch. I then reinstalled Visual Studio - same problem. Next I went to the SDK in Steam and under properties ran "Verify Integrity of Tool." Modbuddy then launched, but now when rebuilding a mod that previously ran fine, I get the error message; Error 1 An unexpected token ")" was found at character position 68 in condition "'($(PackageMod)' != 'false' And '$(Configuration)' != 'Deploy Only')". (File) C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Firaxis\ModBuddy\Civ5Mod.targets (Line) 117 (Column) 42. Noted on Civfanitics forum at least 1 other person is having the exact same problem. Please help.
I believe you will find the solution to your problem in this post from the modding forum.
Thank you yes. WHOWARD69 has once again come to the rescue. Fix description is at: http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...ding-Civ-V-SDK
Short description of my issue.
I have 6 iron, mined personally.
I have 6 units that use iron so have 0 iron left.
I ally with a CS that has 6 iron and am provided that 6 iron.
I try to sell 'my' iron as my units can now use the iron provided by the CS but in the trade window strategic resources is greyed out and it says i have no resources to sell.
where is world builder???? it says its there im confused its easy to find in civ 4???
i just built 2 cattle farms and a house on my territory, but all 3 didnt show up on map, yet my production was deducted for the amount of each? can i get some help with that?
Since the last patch, my Civ 5 can't math too well. I understand the predicted outcome for the battle is just an estimate and there is some variance, but when the difference is +/- 10 HP on a 10 HP unit, it's unacceptable! I have had a few incidents now where it predicts something like I will lose 1 HP and the enemy (AI) will lose 8, but I end losing my unit which was at full health and the enemy only loses 2 or 3 HP. Other times, I try to move units and it shows that it will take two turns, when in fact it ends up taking three. No other units, mine or the enemy, gets in the path at any time. I'm also have thing game crash problem when trying to start a new game with a huge map. I've tried all the solutions of directX, changing video settings, killing all background processes, disabling anti-virus, etc. I have a powerful computer and I don't think it's a lack or memory, cpu power, hard drive space, or anything like that. I saw one post on one website that it's probably because the game tries to do everything at once when starting a game, which makes sense because I CAN start huge maps if I limit the number of civs/city-states.
@tood33 - the world builder is accessed through Steam. Under the View Menu, select Tools. It's listed as "Sid Meier's Civilization V SDK." You may need to download/install it first (free and quick).
EDIT: The game just did bad math again and is really pissing me off. It shows that my unit with 8 HP would kill an enemy unit with 1 HP while I would only lose about 4 HP. Wrong, I did 0 damage and lost my unit. I've given up on my current game because I keep losing units to the bad math.

I have been playing Civ V to run on my computer. I have been for 8 months, have downloaded all the updates and have never had any issues. What could have happened?
When I try to install Civ V it gives me a screen that says error 1606. What does that mean and how can I fix this?
So somewhere in the recent patches (it was a few months since I last played Civ V) there is a bug. I never had a problem with this before. My embarked workers that are set on automate improvements do not want to disembark. The workers start out in the cities and I order them to automate improvements and they run around do their jobs. Then if they have to embark to move to an island offshore they do but when they reach their destination they don't want to disembark. They just move back and forth one tile a turn between two tiles next to their destination. When you select them and cancel all orders and cycle the turn so they have full moves avail and move to disembark them, they wont showing that the one move to disembark cannot be performed until next turn, similiar to if you told them to travel long distance. In order to disembark them you have to move them one tile over, then order the disembark and you cannot do this as one motion because again it shows as requiring next turn. On automation they will never disembark, I watched one go back and forth for about a dozen turns.
This has been wrong since the start:
I irrigate a tile, turning it into a farm, only to later discover there's an iron deposit there. I then move my worker there, in hope of turning it into a mine. But nooo, I can't, because the game freezes every single time!
I've tried this countless times! It freezes every time!
FIX IT PLEASE!
A question for anyone knowledgeable.
Is there any fix for land textures that do not draw as fast as the cursor pans? After about 150 to 170 turns, land textures start to lag when moving my cursor, destroying the immersion effect and all the pretty scenery. Lag is between 3 and 5 seconds now, and I can imagine it will only get worse making the game unplayable in the later stages.
I play on max graphic settings, the biggest customized Earth map, nineteen civilizations, and twenty seven city-states. (It's just modded for starting positions)
Hardware,
HPE 180T with Intel quad core i7-975 3.33 ghz CPU, (currently oc'ing at 3.6 ghz),Western Digital 10k primary hard drive (civ is installed here, though I had originally installed civ products on my secondary 7.2k hitachi hard drive, Steam however, (unlike Impulse) does not give an installation path choice.)
Video is through an NVIDIA CUDA GeForce GTX 260 1.8 gb card and an hp lp3065 professional monitor with 2560x1600 (32 bit) resolution at 60hz
Memory, is 24gb DDR3-SD 1333 Mhz (no that is not a typo, it is 24gb of ram)
Plus approximately 30gb of page file spread in a 40\60 split over the two drives.
Operating system is Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.
(Also as a note to the developers, in a matter unrelated to my video problems I'd like to say a word about Steam. I am a business owner myself and I understand why choosing a third party distributor makes sense. I do believe that you should reconsider your choice. Anything you sell under Steam in the future will not be bought in my household. I am a typical American consumer, in that I believe that which I spend my money on is mine and not held for me by another party, the use of which is entirely at their discretion.
I believe your salvation lies within Stardock and their Impulse venue. It is neither unnecessarily intrusive nor dictatorial in it's application. The choice is your of course, my family owns twenty or so games and about thirty other programs distributed from Stardock and just one game, the very last game you can be certain, distributed from Steam. I know many who feel the same way.)

My friend just found a bug in MP and figured I'd post about it since it can give a very unfair advantage. So, anytime you are in an MP game that is laggy, you can use a great scientist to get 2 techs instead of one. This didn't work in duel mode, but 4 players and up it does. When you click to consume the scientist for a tech gain all you have to do is go to the tech tree and select 2 techs fast. You will get both techs for one scientist.
I just bought CIV V and it will not install. After a while, when it gets to the "intalling directx 11" part it say "cannot something Install something something" ...sorry forgot what it says
My computer meets all of the requirements as far as I know, but it will not finish installing. The key code is still unused but I cannot return it. If I can't get it to run I'm going to be SOOOOO pissed. $30 down the drain.
I've run Civ5 for ages. Now, for the past 2 weeks it takes forever to launch. Five minutes to connect the steam account and another 5min for the game itself to launch. I've made no changes on my PC, and can access other web sites as fast as ever. I have 20mb DSL. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I just reninstalled Civ lV on a new hard drive. Install seemed to go OK. When I try to start the game I can go as far as when it asks me to choose Direct X 9 or 10/11. Whichever one I pick, nothing happens. My video card is fine as I can play Starcraft ll without any problems. Any suggestions?
I kept reading posts on the Civ fanatics forums claiming that courthouses remove the per city unhappiness. I tested this and found these claims to be inaccurate. The courthouses are working as intended. However, annexing the city does remove the per city unhappiness for that city.
I do not think Civ v is so great....I liked Civ 4 much better... I did not have to go on line or load Steam first....I had more Civ's to chose from without buying them...( THAT'S BULL )....and way less problems with loading or playing.....Go back to Civ 4 format.....and let me play off line by my self at my own pace....and steam keeps dropping files that i have to go find before i can play....

After choosing either Direct X 9 or 10/11, and setting up a single player game (on any settings), sitting through the loading screen ... I get this message !!The in-game screen doesn't even load. I get sent straight back to the desktop with this message as soon as the game has loaded.
Specs:
Intel i5 2500k 3.3GHz 6MB
ASRock Z68 Pro3
onboard Intel HD
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Pleaseee help me !!
The game goes black screen then crashes when i talk to civilization and its random it doesnt happen all the time.
Unit Icons in strategic view for mods do not display what they're supposed to display. This is a genuine Civ5 bug, and not a modder error. Please fix. Thank you.
My Civ V worked perfectly until the steam update the 20th of December, after that the Intro starts but the game crashes after few seconds during the Intro itself.

GRIPE> Why are the Zulu's not featured in this latest Volume? I find the delineation of the Zulu's on top of having expanding the other Civilizations to be a blatant racist move. I refuse to play this game and will trash it in every online forum I can find, every day until an authorized Patch/Mod is made available at no cost.
Hi,
I am having a problem running Civilisation V (on Steam) on macbook - the game loads fine and there are no audio or visual problems with the opening video however when the first dialogue box opens the English is almost completely illegible. I have been in touch with Steam support but they have told me to post on 2k.
Any ideas?
2K doesn't publish the mac version, you will need to take this up with Aspyr.

Loaded Civ 5 onto computer shortly after launch (Intel i7 3.20 GHz 12GB RAM ATI HD 5800 Windows 7). Absolutely no problems until recently. Now game freezes after loading at "Click to continue". Unable to play at either at 10/11 or 9. Have downloaded all add-ons with no problems either until now. Absolutely unable to get past "Click to continue". From Civ I until now, no problems...what's the issue?
Purchased game right after launch. No problems with present system (Intel i7 3.20 GHz 12 GB RAM ATI HD 5800 Windows 7) until recently. Now can't get past "Click to continue" in either 10/11 or 9 mode. Have downloaded from Steam all add-ons with no problems until now. Any suggestions?
Driver issues? Have you tried updating/rolling back?

any answers???
I also tried my save on my laptop
there's the same problem
Please start a new thread, upload your save file to a temporary storage site, and include the link in your new thread.
For expediency's sake, please also include a dxdiag report for both your desktop and laptop, since we might end up asking for it after testing your save file.
This really should be unstickied and closed, 22 pages of who knows how many different issues isn't helping anyone, especially since individual pages don't show up in a forum search and the first post doesn't contain any useful information.
