    i havent seen this posted anywhere will the game support voice chat?

    Steam has in built voice chat that works well. You can talk to anyone on your friends list or anyone you're in an MP game with, including randoms you don't actually want to speak to.

    i have 130 steam games, i know steam has voice chat, i dont want to use vent, skype or team speak i will be playing with randoms i dont want to have to go through the server address ect.

    What im asking is there a dedicated voice chat system so i can talk to anyone i want like in supreme commander?

    Only for non-commercial purposes, mumble is actually free: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

    chaosquall, as has been stated, Civ 5 will use the voice chat provided by Steam.

    This is great... I just hope they have a text feature as well, and a mute function for particularly annoying players. Sometimes smack talking 12 year olds can get annoying, ya' know?
