There's really not many new things in there, what i do believe was worth for me was the added piece of countryside which was just beautifull, and the Witness and Supermarket missions, other than that it's basicly another round of Jimmys.
As far as countryside part goes....i agree its very beautiful...but again...its frustrating that developers didnt bother making it bigger. And lets be honest, making a countryside the size of the whole city would take about as much time as making one building for the downtown part of the game. You just gotta make a road and put random trees around it, and thats good enough. Just to make us able to cruise around... but no...they didnt bother with one aspect of this type of game which makes the game much much better (e.g. Mafia 1 and GTA:SA).

The horn is what you use to get into bodyshops, etc, it's most likely the action button...

Just noticed one of the missions from Joe's Adventures was cut from the original story, see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omY93dIH8pc

Looked way better in the video, silently killing and fighting with a guard. Even sound effects from the police telling you to pull over... can't see how cutting all that makes a better gaming experience?

it's E for the horn, it's not listed in the options though it does pop up when you need to use it for bodyshops...

Does anybody notice there's something odd in the ending of JA? I mean take a look when Clemente enters bar along with Joe and Eddie. It should be Carlo that enters the bar, and Clemente greets them. What on earth 2K Czech doing? You guys really screwed up this DLC

Well, 10 hours and 40 minutes later, I finished Joe's Adventures

It probably took me twice as long or more than it should have, given how many missions I had to replay over and over again. I was playing on Medium, and it wasn't that medium was too hard in my opinion, it's what many have said and it's what that recent Kotaku review summarized very nicely. Many of the missions don't have great design - too much driving, frustrating gameplay mechanics, etc.

Boy, the whole game, I was wondering to myself, where is Joe's awesome red flower shirt? It's never in his wardrobe for me to wear. When we finally see it at the very end of the game, I'm so confused - where did it come from? Just as Joe was walking up the staircase, in the middle of a gunfight, right before he confronted Rocco, he decided to change shirts, and he puts on a shirt he never had?!

Sorry I guess I found the end of the DLC pretty light in terms of cutscenes. I really was hoping for more story in the DLC overall. And the Cathouse level was fantastic, and then after that level, it was a bit of a letdown that the final climax level of the DLC was a re-used level from the main game, the construction site. I wouldn't have cared if it made the DLC shorter, the playable part of the DLC should have ended at the Cathouse, or make another new location. Don't re-use a location, even if you're going up whereas in Mafia II you're going down!

I also found the parking lot mission interesting. It was a pain of a mission the first 5 times I played it, but after that, it was cool to see that building used, because I had marked it as a location of interest on my map long before the DLC was released

So, what's my final score... hmmm...

Story missions get somewhere between 8/10 and 10/10 depending how good each one was, the arcade missions get 4/10 except for just a few select arcade missions that took place in awesome locations (the subway, the house, the parking garage) get 7/10 only because of the locations. Those 3 locations should have all been story missions, in my opinion. It would have really gone a good way towards making the DLC more balanced for those people who expected more story and less arcade from a story-based DLC.

So I'm going to say, final score, based on my feeling... 6/10. The stuff that was awesome about this DLC was truly awesome, just like in Mafia II, but it's a whole combination of factors all contributing, and so many different elements in the arcade missions especially really brought the score down for me.

I might write more thoughts on the DLC later.

So I was replaying a few bits... and during one of the loading quotes, it said:

"If the cops have your description..."

And then, it flashed to "If the cops have Vito's description..."

And then, it flashed back to "If the cops have your description..."

    LOL

I would like to know as well.

I would also like to know what happened to the 20th collectible. It was advertised that there would be 20, but the DLC has 19. In fact, there is a thumbnail for #20 in the DLC game files! But, it's one that already appeared in the main game. The thumbnail is cropped differently though than the thumbnail in the main game. Is that what happened? Someone realized that the collectible had already been used in the main game and overlooked, so it had to be removed, and then there weren't 20 anymore?

I bought Joe's Adventures yesterday and, WOW, that thing sucks!

What a deception, I was thinking on get those missing parts of the game, and maybe a real end to Joe after killing Carlo, but No, I got a totally non sense stuff..

The missions it self r good, really good, some missions on hard are ridiculously annoying, but good to play..
This DLC(/expansion) is full of bugs, including one who made me take a good tome to complete the mission after the Supermarket robbery, the cops got stuck under a bridge on the escape route..

Anyways, this DLC is a shame, I was hoping for some real content regarding the original game..

    Thanks for the list, Liz!

However, having reviewed each song, I can't seem to remember hearing any of these during the 12 hours that I played Joe's Adventures. The new score music stood out to me (I loved it!) as well as the song that Joe sings along to, but I was pretty sure I didn't hear anything else new that I hadn't heard already in over 200 hours of playing Mafia II. I know that others have also reported not hearing new music. Of course, I could be wrong, but I've also checked all the files on my PC Steam retail version of Mafia II and the PC Steam version of Joe's Adventures, and I can't seem to locate the files for these new songs. The files should be straightforward to find unless 2K changed the file structure for Joe's Adventures, which would be kind of weird because the file structure of everything else in the DLC is 100% the same as the main game.

Would it be too much to ask if you could check with the team to confirm that these songs are included in the DLC for all 3 platforms? Or, can you let us know which radio stations these songs play on and whether they play in the 40s or 50s, so that we have a better chance to hear them in the game? It would be great to add them to my sorted lists of Mafia II songs.

Links to most of these songs on YouTube:

Make Love to Me - Jo Stafford
Oh Boy! - Buddy Holly and The Crickets
Hey Spo Dee O Dee - Wild Bill Moore
Rip It Up - Little Richard
That's Why I Love You So - Jackie Wilson
I'm Not A Juvenile Delinquent - Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers
Chop Chop Boom - The Danderliers
Blue Suede Shoes - Carl Perkins
Bye Bye Love - Everly Brothers

i just completed Joes Adventures (on Hard) and i liked it's ending which was solid for a DLC type thing.

Just talking about general ending of Joe's Adventures below...
like how Joe liquidated em and he fell on the car from the rooftop and looked down at i think it was Falcone giving the thumbs up like everything's cool... then as they where walking back into the bar etc all those guys looking around like they can't believe it and Joe flips him off like "i am back!"

we wanted an intelligent and adult game but we didnt receive it.
ill disagree. it's not anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. sure compared to Mafia 1 it did not live up to it's greatness overall but it's still AT LEAST a good game.

i actually liked the ending of Joe's Adventures. it was good for a DLC thing which you obviously cannot expect the world of to begin with.

Just go real fast and hit the front side of the cop car -- the bookie will get through. Wait for him on the other side. Sometimes the bookie can get through on his own as well.

Is there a trainer that works for this DLC? After the last update I can't find one that works, and I simply have no desire to play the arcade missions without cheating. That's the only way I was able to tolerate the Jimmy craptastic DLC.

If not, I'll just cut my losses and watch the story based missions on Youtube and move on to a better game.

The only trainers for v1.03 of Joe's Adventures I've seen are at Cheat Happens or Cheat Scapes.

Only problem is, you have to pay for them, which I would never do.

Cheat Happens used to release their trainers free after a few months, but I think they stopped doing that.

Ditto - I saw your new thread, as did everyone else. I don't have what you need, and if I did, I would give it to you.

I haven't purchased any of the Mafia II DLC - because as far as I am concerned, I am not one to buy back what was stolen from me.

Cutting content from the game, that was clearly advertised as IN THE GAME - then trying to sell it back is fraud, theft, deceptive business practices and totally in line with the underhanded business ethics thats being churned out in our young generation today.

Besides, the entire game sucked anyway - If you ordered a dish of Lasagna at an Italian restaurant, and it tasted like puke, why would you order more? I sure wouldnt!
