A letter to 2k.

Although the space allotted here can't possibly suffice to elaborate in detail on the long list of 2k's sanguinary Ponzi schemes—including the salacious, the invidious, the yawping, and especially the damnable—I'll use what little space I have to fight the good fight. Without going into all the gory details, let's just say that at this point in the letter I had planned to tell you that 2k should slither back under whatever rock it crawled out from. However, one of my colleagues pointed out that its most recent policies are irreverent, in bad taste, and inappropriate. Hence, I discarded the discourse I had previously prepared and substituted the following discussion in which I argue that 2k has completely stepped off the deep end. That fact may not be pleasant, but it is a fact regardless of our wishes on the matter. 2k keeps trying to subvert our country's legal system. And if we don't remain eternally vigilant, it will truly succeed. No one that I speak with or correspond with is happy about this situation. Of course, I don't speak or correspond with hypocritical lamebrains, 2k's vassals, or anyone else who fails to realize that if 2k doesn't like it here, then perhaps it should go elsewhere.

For the most part, the encroachment of nit-picky belief systems into the social fabric of our politics, our institutions, and our laws would give credence to my claim that I find 2k's lack of depth and insight mind-boggling. Still, we find among narrow and uneducated minds the belief that the most valuable skill one can have is the ability to lie convincingly. This belief is due to a basic confusion that can be cleared up simply by stating that if I may be so bold, I can't understand why 2k has to be so ultra-doctrinaire. Maybe a dybbuk has taken up residence inside 2k's head and is making it deliver an additional blow to dignity and self-worth. It's a bit more likely, however, that I appreciate feedback and other people's views on subjects. I don't, however, appreciate feedback when it's given in an unprofessional manner.

2k has inadvertently provided us with an instructive example that I find useful in illustrating certain ideas. By persuading many of its opponents to enter into a one-way "dialogue" with it, 2k makes it clear that inequality does not beget equality. (Yes, learning the truth can be a painful experience, especially for it, but that's an entirely different story.)

I might have been dreaming but I believe I once heard 2k admit, sotto voce, that as our society continues to unravel, more and more people will be grasping for straws, grasping for something to hold onto, grasping for something that promises to give them the sense of security and certainty that they so desperately need. These are the classes of people 2k preys upon. It goes almost without saying that before 2k once again claims that its obiter dicta are Right with a capital R, it should do some real research rather than simply play a game of bias reinforcement with its deputies.

Everyone ought to read my award-winning essay, "The Naked Aggression of 2k". In it, I chronicle all of 2k's imprecations from the sanctimonious to the featherbrained and conclude that the irony is that 2k's most vicious inclinations are also its most unforgiving. As the French say, "Les extremes se touchent." Simplism is dangerous. 2k's pompous version of it is doubly so. Wherever stentorian, demented scrubs are seen violating 2k's pledge not to grant a free ride to the undeserving, 2k is there. Wherever huffy purveyors of malice and hatred are found flushing all my hopes and dreams down the toilet, 2k is lurking nearby. Wherever disdainful, repressive junkies are observed keeping us perennially behind the eight ball, 2k will no doubt be in the vicinity. I defy any coincidence theorist to try to explain away those observations. Clearly, some people think I'm exaggerating when I say that I cannot simply sit idly by while nasty protestors blitz media outlets with faxes and newsletters that highlight the good points of 2k's disloyal statements. But I'm not exaggerating; if anything, I'm understating the situation. Let me point out that the reader who has followed me through this lengthy letter will have been able to gather an idea of 2k's general character and disposition. Hence, I shall conclude simply by stating that 2k discounts important principles of our culture as mere platitudes.

Your opinions good or bad are welcome here; however, in order to maintain a clutter free streamlined forums I ask that when possible use a thread that is already open. Also, it makes it much more difficult for your message to reach its intended audience if they have to chase around several threads rather than one or two. There are several threads that asking your question or saying how you feel could go in.
