Single player doesn't load with Minerva's Den

    (This is for Xbox 360)

I was wondering if anyone else has this issue or knows a solution to the problem. I downloaded Minerva's Den and when it's installed I can't switch to single player, it -sometimes- shows the loading screen and then just blank screens (without being able to use the guide button either.) or just has a background guide button sound and nothing is displayed on the TV at all.

I've already tried clearing the cache, I've deleted and re-downloaded the file 3 times, I finished the Protector Trials and can access multiplayer with all the other DLC just fine. The game works when I delete Minerva's Den so it's directly related to it.

    Thoughts?

    Question

A similar bug happens to me on PS3.

I can't load my save games from the Single Player mode anymore. The loading screen stays on forever with the music playing and the tutorial messages looping automatically, but I don't get any 'OK' confirmation. Trying to quit the game from the XMB even reboots the PS3.

For the record, I haven't finished the Single Player mode yet, and I don't own the Protector Trials DLC. I bought my copy in the UK and the Minerva's Den DLC on the French PSN (Minerva's Den *does* work).

I've downloaded and installed Minerva's Den on PS3, but I can't seem to access it... It doesn't show up and it doesn't let me highlight the Downloadable content option. I had to pack up the system to the in-laws house to get Internet access and now, back where I have no net it doesn't want to work. This sucks...

I have just as many PC games as console games and don't need irrelevant troll talk.

It's good and bad that similar issues have happened on PS3, means I'm not alone but also that this is a bigger problem. I'll probably have the 360 gamer score issue too afterwards if I ever get the DLC to even run. Love the Bioshock franchise but this really has soured my experience.

[QUOTE=Ryusennin;1078317]A similar bug happens to me on PS3.

This is exactly what's happening with me! It started after I downloaded The Protector Trials. I've erased and reinstalled the game but still all I get is the loading screen & music. I can hear that my ps3 has ceased to load as the subtle 'chugging' sound stops. I'm 3/4 through completing the game on hard and will be miffed to loose all my progress. Any help coming 2K?

This is the 2nd serious fault I've had with this game - previously my plasmid hand disappeared every time I zoomed in on a weapon. Consumers would far rather wait for a properly tested and bug-free product than endure all these infuriating failures!!

    Same problem on PS3

I've played a bit of Minerva's Den (and saved a game) and when I try to load a game from the main campaign, the loading screen (the one with the vintage radio) remains forever. Please fix it asap.

Well, after 4 complete delete and re-downloads, playing around with updates and no updates I've finally been able to play the DLC! It's hard to tell though if something changed when they fixed the achievements registering and it's affected my game. I'll certain post back if this isn't consistent.

I do not have the game installed to hard-drive right now and it's working, just to add.

For me, DLC (Minerva's) plays just fine, but the main campaign wont load. This is a high priority bug, so please fix it quickly.

    Exclamation

On the PS3, I tried deleting and reinstalling everything (base game + title update 1.03 + Minerva's Den) but it doesn't make any difference, the console freezes during the loading of previous saves.

Deleting the BioShock 2 Downloadable Content folder partly solves the problem. I can use my previous saves again, but of course Minerva's Den is not accessible anymore.

Interesting note: with Minerva's Den installed, I can start a new single player campaign from scratch and save my game. The new save game will work, but *only* if Minerva's Den remains installed.

Clearly, there are incompatibilities of save formats between the base game and the DLC.

    Unhappy same problem

PS3: Played MD for a while, saved the game. Tried to load the save and it locked up at the "old radio" loading screen. Couldn't even exit to the XMB. Had to press the off button on the console. Relieved to find out that I'm not the only one with the problem. Hopefully 2K will have a fix soon. MD is too long to have to play it in one sitting.

@ Ryusennin, I have the same problem on PS3, mines been happening since I got the Protector trials though. There's definitely something that needs fixing here!

There's another thread on this website too with people with the same problem on posted on a minute ago http://206.225.86.24/forums/showthre...78#post1088078

Can't help feeling this would be a huge problem if it was closer to release date where more people would have been affected

    Issues with DLC

I've had a few problems with this DLC on PS3. First, after I installed the DLC I couldn't load my original campaign save. Uninstalling the DLC allowed me to load the save and I could repeat the issue by re-installing the DLC.

Now, many of the helmet effect are just black. Things like the drops of water are just black dots rather than clear and the blur effect when getting covered by falling water causes the screen to go black. This may be related to issues loading the texture.

Don`t apologise. Don`t know how many times i have seen console tards come into a thread just to tell PC players to get a console. About time they taste their own medicine.

    @badsmed

With such a cheap post, you don't look too bright either. And since you ask, my frankenstein PC runs Crysis just fine, thank you. Yes, I realize that must be a shock to you - console gamers being also PC gamers.

Anyway, this is a technical topic about bug reports on consoles, not another pathetic trolling ground. Now that's been made perfectly clear, let's get back on the subject.

Having the same problem here. Downloaded both "Minerva" & Trials" for my PS3 after I recently finished BIO2 and cannot access neither from game's menu or anywhere else. Contacted 2K tech support and haven't heard a word about the issue. PSN tech support suggested downloading and installing again but it still didn't work. Yeah, this SUCKS big time.
