Mafia 2 The Crash King

I bought the game from steam. It installed just fine. When I goto run it the mini splash pops then windows tells me the program has crashed. This is the error report.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit- Fully updated via Microsoft update
AMD Athlon 2 x4 3.4ghz each core
ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB
4gb DDR2 RAM

I need some help fixing this game I tried running it in admin and windows xp compatibility mode and nothing seems to work. I haven't been able to get past the mini splash at all and i am starting to get pretty pissed with this game. I really want to play it too. Also I duno if this means a whole lot but when i first tried to run it it gave me a pop up about physx I don't use that crap I have ATI so y did it tell me about it ? Thanx in advance.

Install PhysX and DirectX supplied with the game.

EDIT: Even if you have an ATI card, you still have to install PhysX for the game to run correctly.

Well I did try to install directX but it told me that that version I have is equal or better than the version it was trying to install. It didn't ask me about physx during the install so i guess it installed automatically. When it did say something about physx was the very first time i tried to run the game.

You can't "guess it installed automatically".

The only way to make sure is to install PhysX.

The redistributables (DirectX and PhysX) installers are in the game folder.

Thanx a bunch m8 it's working perfectly now. I still can't believe i had to put nvidia software on my pc to make this game run.

I did that already. I think this is the last time I am going to buy anything from steam cuz it's such a hassle. I just drive down to walmart or best buy or something and buy games cuz steam makes everything harder for no logical reason.

also disc based games require steam to run so buying disc you still half 2 run through steam.
