Never had a problem, I crushed cars anyway, tip no need to leave yard fully.
From crusher run up the dirt track behind it up to the rail track turn left around the wall past the single barrier and back to crusher.
A car at the end and possibly the pickup will magically appear for crushing.

I did have an issue going into Mona Lisa once (cannot remember which chapter) but it was because I was not wearing a suit, it is a top class joint after all. On a hunch I went to nearest Clothes joint and bought a suit rather than going all way home.

Not sure if that may be the reason you cannot get in, what are you wearing.

You don't even have to go that far, I just back up past Bruskie's hut to the second dirt junction, if you keep looking toward the left of the road near the crusher you will see a car spawn, first time I went there with Joe I left the yard with $10000, not that cash is a big deal in this game.

Must be certain ways for shortcut, if you go back out the way i normally come in under the bridge, you have to back out under the bridge before car respawns.

i have too this same problem... i 2x completed this game, and now i cant because the door are buged... pls 2K fix it, i really dont now how can i entered in the door previously, but now i can and i want for i payed...

Think the bug comes from start of the mission as you can go back and ring Joe's doorbell a second time even during trip to look for him... all places will show up twice on the map

It's really annoying. I tried multiple advices from here, none of them helped. I bought a tailored suit for Vito, I got over $30k, and nothing works. The damn door doesn't open.

Nope, you don't need $39k to finish Chapter 14. Today after a lot of swearing and restarting Chapter 14 I finally found a solution. After killing Derek at the docks, I didn't rob any stores (no clothes stores, no gun shops), because it didn't help previously. So instead of robbing stores, I headed to Bruski's place, I crushed a couple of cars to earn over $27,500, than I drove back to Joe's apartment. After that I didn't visit Eddie or the other guy in the bar, I went straight to the Mona Lisa restaurant and finally I was able to open the damn door.

It's ridiculous that if I follow the advices in the game I'd never finish this Chapter, because of this stupid bug.

after i killed derek, on screen show me tips for robbery shops and sell cars to bruskis scrap yard, but now i get knowledge that i cant do robber shops...
so if u make game, make this playable

You should edit the first post and add the solution with big letters etc to stand out so people don't have to look through a thread etc.

Another problem is when you get your own apartment, the red dot still stays at Joe's apartment even though you cannot enter it (but you can use the Garage still), I'm not sure what Chapter it is but if we redo that chapter will the red dot dissapear? It's pretty annoying.

Ah alright.

In the first post could you add the most important part to fix this issue, which is to load up Chapter 14 from the start if people have this problem and they cannot fix it as I'm sure that's the main problem of this glitch.

ok guys i had the problem, too.
And i read the Solution in another forum.
You have to earn the money before u go to derek an u only earn it with the destruction of cars at Bruski's, DONT rob stores. In this way u can open at mona lisa's and watch the scene after u brought back Bruno's money.
Have fun.
btw: Hope they fix all this glitches.

I had the same problem, but at the second part of the mission :
The first part, I had collected 27500$, and it was OK. I then went to free joe, but I spent some money to repair my car, etc. So, at the end of the mission, I hadn't 55000$. I collected it back by stealing stores, and I got the hint to go to give the cash. Then... Unable to open the door of the guy (don't remenber his name).

Note that when I finished the game for the first time (in medium mode, now I'm trying in hard), I did the same (had to collect money again at the end of the mission) but didn't had any problem. But the first time, I was crushing cars...

I don't want to retry the entire mission, since the whole Joe's freeing is a bit long...

EDIT: I add that I'm playing on PC, not on console as others posts says.

this workaround fixed it for me. i was was at the point where i had just dropped joe off at el greco's, and i restarted the level/mission and didnt do anything, i mean anything, except bring cars to the car crusher and it worked. I AM SOO HAPPY!!!

I have spent $60 on the game and another $20 on DLC, for $80 you'd think I could finish the game!

I have dropped off Joe and now owe Bruno $55k. I have restarted the chapter 12 times. I have robbed stores and not robbed stores. I have just scrapped enough cars to earn the $55k and I have scrapped cars until the machine cuts me off. I have scrapped cars and not gotten so much as a ticket and had no interaction with the police in any way at all. And yet any time I do any of this, I go to Buno's back ally door and.......NOTHING! No press x to open door, no cut scene NOTHING. I can't finish the mission because it cuts out, and now I sit with 62% complete for a game I paid over $80 for!

2KGames, you need to either fix this glitch or refund my money and I'll just go buy a Rock star game.

Is there a patch out yet? I'm not working around anything I just need a WORKABLE version of the game. It's not a puzzle game is it? But it's not that much of a problem, I got my money back and then I downloaded an illegal version this is a much more attractive way of having a broken game on your computer

I didn't have a problem, but from what i heard you should only go to Bruski's and not rob shops. Get to around 37,000 and you'll get a message that says "you have enough to pay Bruno" or some such, and you're good from there.

Yeah u may have to restart the mission, but don't go to the shops to raise cash - only bruski.
