A usable workaround for this particular situation is to ignore the opportunity to rob stores and use the car-crushing option to earn the money. We have found that $39,000 is a good figure to have but some reports indicate that this figure is a little high. Also, it helps if you can avoid the attention of the police for the duration of the mission, but yet again this is a debatable variable. Just crush cars.



This is a really annoying glitch that is driving me insane because there is no way to finish the story without and so far ive tried loads of things and nothings happening. I googled the hell out this problem for a fix and nothing just same problem with different people.
So far i tried restarting game, mission, Verifying steam files. Trying a door at the back, driving a car through the door.. nothing :@!! anyone got a trick or anything to just skip this little scene to move onto the next one because i saw the video after you go inside on youtube and there is abit after where your with joe and if there was some code to just get to the next bit i would be so happy. Pleaseee someone have a fixx

no matter what i do, restart mission, restart ps3 i cannot enter the mona lisa, it says to press square to enter door when i press it nothing happens would appreciate a fix here so i can complete the game

Well i found out how to fix it but what a pain...
I just loaded chapter 14 again and re-did the whole mission which was a bore but it fixed it.
I also found out if when you arrive at the mona lisa bar.

:- If the windows are clear and you can see right inside at the people talking and stuff then the door wont open.

:- If the blinds are down and you cannot see into the bar when you are there you should be able to get in.

so basically you have to go there at night when stores closed?? i heard some people saying to make the extra cash for paying the debt instead of robbing stores you should crush cars instead not sure if that works

when you go to joes apartment it sends you 6 hours forward then you just need to get the extra cash you need, i crushed cars to get that then when you go to the mona lisa bar the blinds should be down on the windows then you can enter

Yeah, I re-played the entire chapter, killed Derick, robbed gunstores & clothes stores and the Mona Lisa is still serving guests. I am not playing it a third time.

So, guys! I'm from Russia and apologize in advance for my English. I just can not open this door! Outplayed the entire chapter. I went to Joe several times to wait for another 6 hours. It may be early next morning or at midnight, so the blinds were closed in the cafe? there is always someone sitting of the guests! And what then shall we do?

Man I am having the same problem (xbox 360) to some extent, but mine is when I leave Bruno's after paying him. I am just stuck on the damn loading screen. I did everything I could think of, installed and uninstalled game from HD. This is pathetic. I can't finish the damn game because of the stupid loading screen.

Do the mission over? Hell no...I'm playing on hard and this is a long pain in the ass mission imo. There is no way I'm doing it over. I'm bringing it back for a refund unless they fix it.....Geez how pathetic

I have it on PC by the way. And I got the money by robbing stores.

in the end i replayed the chapter from scratch, did NOT rob stores - only crushed cars. worked eventually.

absolutely insane that this was not caught during testing - to be given just TWO options to earn the rest of the money, but have one of them break the game?

except that you have to drive up to the top of the map & keep running to and from the crusher to get more cars, instead of just driving round a few clothes shops and getting the cash you need. then you gotta drive all the way back (even worse if you get halfway there and accidentally die after running into a wall).

I have played "Stairway to Heaven" 3 times total and it still does the same thing. Once you click on the door, that's it, you're f*#ked.

As for earning the money, you can rob stores, crush cars at Bruski's, hold up gas stations, hit the gun shops, whatever, none of it matters. If it is not night time you don't finish the game.

I thought 2K Czeck would sort this by now but, I guess they don't care either.

Not really.

Once you get there, there are several cars right next to the crusher you can use.

You only really need one other car and that's it.

it took me four crushed cars to get the required total, and only one car was near the crusher. the rest, i had to go steal. and even without the car collecting you still have to hike back and forth across the map and hope the cops dont glitch out or you randomly hit something and die.

car crushing really isn't a better alternative to simply robbing the stores.

I only had to leave the yard for one vehicle, and that didn't take long as there's cars nearby.

A patch would be nice! surely it's not that hard to fix but reading some of the other threads on here of issues the patch to fix it may be quite a large one.

Yeah, it does seem that the answer is only crushing cars, and you are right, it is a pain in the a@@ having to run back and forth to get the necessary number. Regardless of what that number is.

Ultimately, I was able to finish the game last night. WooHoo! Good game, even though the "product quality team" at 2K needs to be beat down. haha.

Bumping here because I'm stuck too on Chapter 14 after going through the door.
I don't want to waste another full day trying to complete that chapter on Hard and have the same situation again. I'll wait for the LUA console instead to be fixed to teleport myself up or until this bug gets patched.
