    Master of Orion

Now that Civ5 is about to be released..
..may we hope that one of the next firaxis projects is going to be some new version of an Master of Orion based game? Or at least something like alpha centauri?
I really like the past and the present but the future is also a nice place

Yeah its time for Masters of orion 2 to have a sequel, not masters of orion 3 that was FUBAR. I still play MOO 2 with my friends and is suprisingly how well it works and how it still not been beated byy contempory games. And is the game we have the most ideas for improvents of any game ever played. Its really in our hearts like CIV serie and few other games.

Firaxis/2K don't own MOO, so not much chance of it from them... Atari own the rights.

What we call MoO3 was a wretched abortion of a game. But, Firaxis doesn't own the rights to the series, and I honestly expect the series' has had its reputation so indelibly besmirched as to make any new sequel irrelevant to all but the most dedicated fan.

Now, Alpha Centauri 2, that I could get behind, but the last I heard Firaxis doesn't have the rights to that either.

I only played the first one, and I remember that as a great game. Rather than a sequel I would like to see someone make a new IP that is very similar. perhaps Firaxis or someone else will go in the direction in the near future.

I don't want them to work on MOO or Alpha Centari. I would like to see them focus on bug fix and an expansion pack.

I've always wanted a new version of Alpha Centauri. I loved that game and it sorely needs a newer, more modern version.

If they dont have the rights to Alpha Centauri anymore I'd like a similar sci-fi game.. maybe the different factions could start on different planets in a solar system and you could invade other planets and moons and stuff with their own maps and resources..

Personally, I'm hoping that they start right away on Civ 6

They are skipping 6 and starting work on 7, actually. They are too afraid of disappointment to make a 6.

But, it's the even numbered versions that are the best!

No, wait... that's Star Trek movies.

never really played MOO. First one I picked up was MOO3. It had great potential and I was really excited about it until about halfway through my first game that it was no better than an alpha release they decided to slap a price tag on. The combat screen was literally wire frame. I would definitely go for one that was finished though. Even broken and unfinished it felt epic and I love space empire stuff. Pax Imperia was one of my favorite games ever. Heck they should make a sequel to that too.
