Is there a way to mod or tweak a file to reduce amount of cops?

seriously, they're everywhere. More than once I accidently whip out a gun after leaving a cutscene and I hear "I've got a caucasian male with a gun", and I know I can't steal a car before they come to arrest me.

Or I'll be driving, and accidently sideswipe a pedestrian and a cop I don't even see screams "this guys a maniac! We gotta take this guy down!", not to mention the mundane fender benders and speeding offences that send the cops after me.

This isn't exciting, this isn't fun, its just frustrating when I've got things to do and I've got to drive in circles a few times every 10 minutes because there's a cop or squad car on every block and the traffic is timed to make sure I t-bone someone at an intersection.

All it needs is to have the spawn rate or amount of cops on the street removed by half... I don't mean eliminate completely, just have a cop every TWO blocks would be better. Is there a way to do this with the files or am I going to have to wait for a mod?

I doubt that there is any legit way to 'tweak' the cop spawn.

More cops appear depending on your crime levels, if you accidentally get the cops to want to fine or arrest you (2 stars wanted level). Just speed off and lose them, your arrest will slowly disappear.

If you do accidentally hit someone and you get 3 stars wanted level they don't have your plate number yet, so just speed off and evade them.

i dont know if its correct to mention it here o not but u could try a trainer, searching for guides on the net i read about one that make the cops easy to lose. well atleast u should try that temporally while there is a mod or something.
im talking about the pc version btw, we all know that on consoles its almost impossible.

The cops are already extremely easy to lose.

There's heaps of them, and they can sometimes be annoying, but you can easily and quickly lose your wanted status.

Even on foot it's not that hard.

well its made for people who never want to be chased by cops becouse they ignore u. if u kill someone theyll still go to the murder escene but even if ur there standing in front of them they are like: "Duh, who is responsable for this?"
