The Betrayal Of Jimmy does have free roam and i can confirm this because i did the first mission and after i was done, i was able to free roam without any way points or anything else forcing me to do the mission like in the main story with Vito.
you can save the game just like you would in GTA like for example, you go to your house (marked with the key) and you go inside the bedroom and there will be a big floating icon that lets you save when ever you want.
you can replay missions to gain higher scores or just for the fun of it.
there are gun shops, clothing stores, and other places you can visit.
you can have shootouts with cops and kill pedestrians.
THE MAIN POINT IS THAT YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITHOUT THAT RED WAY POINT GETTING IN THE WAY OR THE GAME TELLING YOU TO GO TO A CERTAIN PLACE LIKE IN THE MAIN GAME.
I know this information was given before but i am just giving my perspective and here is the guy i read this from and he is right:
"The PS3 Exclusive DLC does have a free roam mode. Which means the other DLCs will have it too. After you complete a mission it saves, then you can go around the map and there are different places you go for missions (like GTA), and the bed room in your safe houses has a big floating house icon that you can use to save when ever you like, just like GTA.
You can replay missions when ever you like to try and gain a higher score. Killing people quickly gets you combos, as does drifting your car, blowing things up, general mayhem. It's pretty cool. Plus the main character looks like Bruce Willis a little bit. Has he ever been in a 50's film? Thats besides the point though..."
thanks to KALASH69, hope you don't mind me quoting on what you said on the "This Game NEEDS a Free Ride Mode" thread.
PlayStation owners please stop complaining that the game does not have free roam when in fact we do Which is the Betrayal Of Jimmy and if you bought the game used then i don't think you will receive the free code that lets you download The Betrayal Of Jimmy but you can always download it from the PlayStation Store for $9.99.
