Question: Mafia 2 ("Blue Sky Syndrome" I've got the Steam version of Mafia 2 and Jimmy's Vendetta DLC for weeks, and play it on my PC without any problems. I bought and downloaded 2 DLC car packs from Steam, 2 days ago, and since then, after the cut scenes, the game open without any action on the screen but a fix sky image with white clouds... I hear the soound but nothing else works. I erased my local files and re-downloaded the game from Steam, but I still have the same "sky Syndrome" image after the cut scenes. Am I alone to suffer this or is there any fix to it? Thank you in advance for your help. (P.s.: English is not my first language as you can feel it). My gear: (OS) Windows 7, 64 bits, (Motherboard) Asus Rampage 2 Gene,(GPU)2 Ati Radeon 4870 in Crossfire , latest drive 10.9 through Steam, (Monitor) Samsung Syncmaster 24" (1920X1200, 16X10, (RAM) 6 gb

I should add that this bug occurs in both the 40s and 50s.



(By the way, I am playing on PC, and I am not using any mods or anything, I have Jimmy's Vendetta and the pre-order packs installed, but nothing in my game is being affected by anything that isn't vanilla.)

Oh wow, this is a crazy bug. Usually I see more pop-in than I'd like, but I've never seen pop-out!

In Chinatown, check out that sign for one of Charlie's repair shops.

Then, when I walk CLOSER to it, the sign just vanishes while I'm approaching it!

Next, I tried walking away from it while looking backwards with the camera - and once I had walked sufficiently far away from it, it appeared again! It happens approaching the sign from any of the 3 directions.

I should add that this happens in both 40s and 50s, and it happens whether you are driving or walking. When driving, you do have to drive up much closer before it disappears, but it still does disappear when you get close while driving.

In chapter 14 the cutscene with paying Bruno 55k is loading, but when im about to leave brunos'place the game is loading without end, looks like its a big bug.

first i had the bug with the "closed" door, which i couldnt enter, then i played the whole chapter again and now the its this endless loader!

I completed the last part of chapter 14, returning the money to Bruno. after that cut scene it goes to the loading screen. However, it just keeps loading and nothing comes out. Locking up randomly throughout the game, need to hold power button to reset. Right now on my 37th lockup in a row on chapter 15 all after you go down the spiral stairs. All others games working fine. This game is trash! Besides this game i have only have one lockup on my PS3 in almost 4 years.

Hi guys i'm very unpleased about this bug:

Did played the mission TIT FOR TAT abd wanted to replay it.
Next happend: started all over with the green clock in the right upper corner,WITHOUT STARTING THE MISSION, when i start the mission it will load it and after 5 seconds it says "you failed to do the mission in time" it will reload and i will have the green clock again in the upper right corner i can't do nothing anymore then wait till the time has gone and it will give me again the "you failed to do the mission on time" both ways i can't do anything then play the game all over

I've only just finished at the docs and I left the game for a few weeks due to work. I came back to discover that steam says I last played the game today and I've played for 10 HOURS!!! When I return to the last spot in the game it takes me to just outside Joe's apartment where Joe and some guy I never saw before, are waiting.They just stand there and do nothing and I'm wearing a tux!!

I have no idea how it got there. IS it possible for someone to hack my account and play with MY game online???

I've brought a copy of Mafia 11 for PC and have installed it - when I try and play the game, the screen goes blank and then comes back on with all bright colours etc... any idea's on how to fix this???

Hi Guys, i got a hugeass problem and i dont get behind its reason.
So i bought Mafia II a month ago, everything worked properly and all, but since circa two weeks now EVERYTHING freezes after 10-15 minutes of playing, the only thing, i can do is rebooting. I tried running it in window mode, but i had the same problem. When it froze now, i could use Firefox, etc by pressing alt&tab, but when i opened the frozen window again, it actually still worked - i could hear the menu opening - when i tried to close Mafia II, the whole thing froze again ---> reboot!

So i reinstalled the game and started a new story - no damn change!
I updated my videocard drivers - guess what! NO CHANGE!
I read, maybe my videocard gets too hot, so i measured with everest while playing.
Videocard Temperature -> 72°C Sure, thats pretty hot, but not critical.
I can play other games regularly.
It's nearly impossible, that it's a videocard-problem, because the game worked properly before!

PLEASE HELP ME! I GOT NO IDEA, WHAT I CAN DO!

My machine: XP Professional, Intel Penitum 4 Dual-Core
videocard: Radeon HD 4670

I know, it's a pretty old thing, but the game worked absolutly fluently before!

my problems is Game starts, splash screen comes, after that the screen with the copyright information and the PhysX advertisment. When the game is about to load, it just kicks you back to the desktop.

i already tried update drivers...Reinstalled Steam. just get kicked out of the game! Reinstalled PhysX.Direct X updated to 11. Giving admin permission to Mafia2.exe, checking the Steam if the Data is corrupt.. it wasn't.. nothing seems to work!

I have a chronic problem that is very annoying and detrimental to the game. It did not happen often the first time I played through, and restarting the game got rid of it, but now it will not go away. I do not think it ever happened on the very first mission.

Prolonged shooting (either repeated clicking or click and holding) will cause my gun to dissapear and, very usually, my aim to shoot upwards or in some other hazardous direction. It has caused many deaths, atleast two batteries, and several mentally frustrated fits.

I just finished Joe's Adventure's, when I wanted to do the first mission again because of the 'Artic Grave' achievement which I didn't get the first time.

When the short introduction movie started, I realized that I lost the car with which I drove to the mission. Because this was the 'Dezilia GrandeAmerican', I hit the escape button and wanted to go back to the last saved checkpoint. When I used this option, the game crashed ("Mafia 2 application has stopped working")
Now every time I want to continue the saved game in Joe's Adventure, the game crashes. So it lookes like the savegame is corrupt.

Does someone know if and/or how to repare this savegame? I put quite a lot of time in it, and I had a nice score...

Guys, if you don't mind, it is quite tough to keep track of things in such a thread.

Either create a new one, or PM me with as many details as possible.

Ba_m, no idea what could cause that, but what may work is copying the save file itself, rename the save directory, start the game up to main menu, exit, place old save in new directory, and re-load.
Alternatively the same principle may apply to an alternate Windows user account. If it still will not load under such circumstances it may be corrupted beyond repair.

Yes; I created a new Windows user, started Mafia 2, closed the game, copied all sav*.dat files from the old user in the new folder except the profile.dat file.

I started the game using the new Windows user, it still crashes while loading Joe's Adventure savegame...

Do you know what Event Viewer is? There may well be a crash report in there related to what the issue is.

My issue is this: I have played through the first chapter (all 5 minutes of it) and have just got passed the first cutscene of chapter two where he arrives off the train. The game then cuts to loading screen and stays there. I bought this a few days ago off steam and my specs are more than up to standard. they won't help you, don't be disappointed. and don't believe those people telling you stuff about fixing anything via downloading something homemade - it's most likely going to be malware.

to get to the point: chapter 14 (especially bruno's door) was one of my main problems. i spent more than 5 hours trying to play through it, because it was so damn glitchy and wouldn't load/open the door for me. what i did? restart chapter, not checkpoint. do not rob any stores on your way to get the money, crushing cars has caused the bug to accur every single time i, or somebody i know, played.
