Playing on PC.
Top left part of the map doesn't render for me. Buildings barely render, roads become non-solid, traffic drives on as if everything is ok, but they fall through the world.
Real bad as I can't continue the mission, look on the map, the marker is in the area (The mission where you pick up the MG42)
I'm almost done with the game, and after chapter 14 and when I'm about to do another mission it gets stuck at the loading screen and wont do anything else. I've returned one game, got another, and I've also returned my ps3 thinking it could have been a read error and its STILL not working. I would like a response asap as to what I can do to get this to work, If not I would love a refund for my game that I paid 60+ dollars for that I CANT EVEN FINISH..........
I have a 120gig slim ps3. and the game freezes after the cut scene finishes or when i try to view the car encyclopedia. please help
It seems that the cops will not do anything when you go through a red light or run a stop sign. I thought they where supposed to give you a ticket for that. Didn't they do that in the demo? Like to see it patched so they do. I also want to report a frame rate issue to you. I'm playing on the PS3 and it happens when you are just driving around but nothing else is going on the frame rate drops to like almost nothing for a couple of seconds and then its fine. This can get very annoying at times. I am not even being chased by anybody..Don't know its just me but they have 145 + songs on the radio over 3 stations but every time I play it seems like I hear the same 15 to 20 songs. I think it should be more random than that.

when stuck in chapter 4 just go to chapter select and re do the whole chapter from the beggining then afther you kill derek make sure u have enough money to sum up with the other have of joe's money DONT SPEND THE MONEY crucial if u do u be force to come up wit the missing part causing the chapter to freez at the end of it this step worked for me im not garenteen that it will work
I am playing Mafia II on (PC) and downloaded it from (Steam).
The problem I am having is an (Endless loading) screen in Chapter 14: Stairway to Heaven. It is after the Cutsceen when you take the money to the laon shark and pay off your debt.

without story missions you dont have much of anthing else to do, plus im a little afraid to just replay the old chapters because i dont wanna risk it deleting all my current progress.

this problem is on the pc version. yeah title says it all im on a mission driving along part of a road then i just plummet strait through. eventualy i just went a long route around the missing panel, but im now in a mission were i have to chase chang back to his base
but his route goes right over the missing panel so im in great need of a fix
the problem persists after shutting of and restarting game, also the visual mesh around the missing panel is less detailed than everything else

I am experiencing what seems to be a huge game-stopper cross-platform bug. Towards the end of the 14th chapter, when I try to drop off the money for Bruno, I get a cutscene where Vito and Bruno discuss the deal, and then as the cutscene finishes, and Vito heads for the door, the game goes into a perpetual loading screen that does not stop.
I can not get past this point.
This issue needs to be addressed immediately as I am sure you are well aware. Spending a ridiculous amount of money, especially on the collector's edition, I find myself to be in a position where I hope that what I pay for will be worth it and work properly.
EDIT: Also found a problem where after a short time in game, I am usually getting two waypoints at a time. One is for the current mission and the other is to Joe's place asking me to "Crash on the kitchen couch and get some sleep." This continues to stay in the game even after you are no longer able to sleep at Joe's place. This needs to be fixed as well as it is EXTREMELY confusing trying to get away from the cops or do a mission where you have to follow a waypoint and have to constantly figure out which way to go as you have two lines to follow on the screen.
That being said, nobody is perfect- but that's why having a strong QA department is important.
Clearly you folks at Take2 need to hire better QA, and I am not here just to complain about a problem, I am available if you need a quality tester - I've got more than my share of experience having worked with many developers including Blizzard, Atari, Microsoft, and others. Feel free to e-mail me regarding this - most of my experience is in in-home testing.
In conclusion, I have experienced other smaller issues and will continue to work on this, hopefully finding a solution (without going back and only scrapping cars for the cash). Maybe I can alter the game save, but I am not sure if I want to go that far into fixing a problem that could have very well been prevented.

I have the Digital Deluxe version from Steam:
When I enter any shop, drinking/eating establishment or body shop.. the game
crashes to the desktop.
Okay so this morning I go to install the game and it says Creating local game cache files....
It gets to the end and it won't do anything, i've left it there for like 5 - 10 minutes and nothing.

On the PS3 version, I have noticed three things thus far:
I. Empire Central stutters, not constantly, but consistently. It's not a huge issue, but still noticeable.
II. This might be a design issue, but it seems like a glitch, so I'll list it:
In 'Chapter 3: Enemy of the State', if Vito doesn't disable the alarm before procuring the gas stamps in the Office of Price Administration building and law enforcement are chasing him, they will only chase to the gate, even if he is within their sight. After which, they suddenly disappear altogether and any police cars parked outside will give no chase.
Again, this might stem from a design choice, but it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the game, so I thought you'd like to know.
III. In the same chapter, when selling gas stamps, the gas station in Sand Island takes several moments to render.
At first, I thought it was just because I was going too fast. But the second time I played, I went a different route and pulled in to the same gas station rather slowly and encountered the same issue.

Driver's reaction to signal issue:
Imagine you're driving sideward on the road, you see a car and signal him, but upon the time you've signaled them you come too close to him and decide to bypass him by moving to the right, but(!) after you signaled him he has started stretching his car to the right side because when you signaled him you were in the same side as him (left side), so he keeps moving to the right even if you're too moving to the right side in order to bypass him and you get hit by his car.
Also, on the tunnel, there's separating blocks for driving directions, so when there's a bend off the road, at the turn of the road, you can see straightly the cars who drive in the opposite direction and signal them, and they react to it by moving off the road against you. But there's separating blocks so even if you decide to go off the road these blocks won't let you and you only wreck your car while trying to do it.
On a highway, there are too separating blocks, but they aren't prolonged so there are spaces in between them by which you can go to the another driving direction (or how is it called? there's two sides of the road, one - when you go straight, and the other is the opposite - for the cars that move to your direction)), so you can intentionally force one of the ai controlled car (by pressuring him) to the wrong side of the road, and he will keep moving by the blocks trying to get on the right side of the road.
Try it, and you will understand what I mean. It's really hard to explain in english.

When i shoot a few bullets, doesn't matter with what gun, i get a huge recoil and immediately holster my weapon. The MG42 in The "Fat Bastard"'s Chapter
just becomes un-useable and i have to leave it and take it again to make it work.
I am using the Steam Version On the PC, and i have not had those problems in the demo.
Load failed
Hi I play on PS3 and i just died in the way to henry in chapter 12 ''some guy shot me'' and me Ps3 tried to reload the last save point, and then it said Warning Load failed select cancel to return to menu and i did that.
but when i tried it again the same thing happend and i also tried to turn it on and of. and if I tried to reload an other chapter it also doesn't work.

On Chapter 14, after leaving the building you fight through, the player falls through the city and just seems to be falling down into nothingness.
PS3.
**** this ****. I've just had to restart the entirety of chapter 14 because the game will not let me reload from a previous save point other then the one that has been completely troublesome and will not let me continue with the game. This is a major fault.

I'm really disappointed of this game never had such a unfinished game with such huge bugs since Gothic 3 in the first mission after the fight with the guy I cant complete the mission because the street is gone before I reach the objective and I fall down trough the ground ever and ever again that crap makes me really angry I pay 50 Euro for nothing because I cant do anything without falling trough the ground...... never buy again a game from 2k thats so poor I mean such bugs you cant overlook a bug you fall down trought the ground if you test the game befor you sell it.....
When i start the game near Joe`s House the game runs great and looks great. But when i drive around the city the game fps drops suddenly and stays the same even when i go back to Joe`s House .I think the game is not using RAM optimally(like in GTA 4 ,before releasing patch 4 or 3,sorry for the example, but you 2k people can learn from others mistakes,instead of your mistakes. .You must release a patch that repairs game usage of RAM.Another example is that when i start the game and i run the benchmark i have good fps. But when i play the game for several hours ,and after this i run the benchmark i have very bad performance. .Anyway im not very sure that the problem is in the RAM,but im sure that there is a problem that need to be solved. This and APEX performance are things that must be repaired!
I have tested this with other friends(Intel and Nvidia updated drivers and NVphysx) with same and better PC specs.the result is the same ,but pc with better specs looses fps latter,but still same sh*t.

so... i bought just today mafia for pc, I installed the game after that asking me to start, then click on start, rather than starting completely changes the screen turns red ... and without starting the game! please help me ...
I also have Starcraft 2 and i have no problems with that so i would have abolished or at least put aside the thought that the PC is not powerful enough
3th Chapter don't end. / 4th Chapter Crash

the 3th mission will not end, my last mission point is "drive to Joes Arpartment to close the Day", after the six Gas Stations. I'm in Joes Arpartment but the Chapter don't end...
I played four times the mission, ever the same result!
From Main Menu, I have the option to start the 4th chapter. But with the first loadding screen the game crashes...
Additional its interesting that I have the 4th chapter in Main Menu, but not the achievement "Compleating the 3th Chapter".

** UPDATE ** (Solved)
NVidia has released a beta driver cd v1.34 that fixed this issue - you'll need to google "NVidia 3d vision 1.34" to find it as the standard driver page only gives you v1.33.
I'm a lot happier now, but I still think the game was rushed - you shouldn't need to use beta drivers on an officially certified game...

I purchased the game (Steam Version) primarially for the 3D support, but I've found 3D vision doesn't work - All the textures mess up (most of them are black). I've spent the last 20 mins googling, but while others have the same problem there is no apparent solution.
Please help - your game was certified as 3D vision ready, which appears to be false advertising, apart from being really annoying.
NVidia GTX 295 running 3D Vision Drivers v1.33 (latest). Core i7 920, 6GB*1333MHz DDR3, 4*1TB RAID, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.

Playboy collectible glitch: I have been replaying previous chapters to find the hidden mags and in chapter 7 (not 6 like previously mentioned), I cant find the magazines on the kitchen table in Vito's new apartment. I restarted the chapter and the computer so many times, no magazine. Any help please?

I've been playing mafia 2 and I'm on the mission where you have to find and save joe i have to walk into the mona lisa and the door doesn't open it says push square to open so i do then it doesn't open and its says push square to open it is very annoying and preventing me from finishing the game please fix this in the next 30 days!
In the PS3 version, the game freezes during the Carlo Falcone fight in Chapter 15.
Ok i get a application error upon running marfia 2. the messages goes like this

A bug/problem ive found is...When you exit the game,It does exit but to your desktop it will stay on a dimmed black screen,i have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then press cancel on the task manager for my desktop to appear normal again....il try and get a screenshot next time i play to show exactly what i mean
i am at the tenth chapter, when im on my way to the hotel, i fall down under the game! there is a whole AREA that has been infected with this :O why? i can't complete the game
game crashes on startup after the small splash screen
hellow im really having a tough problem. lot of u guys actually were able to play though.
when i run the mafia2.exe a small splash screen comes with the mafia2 charachters. then it goes black and after exactly 4 seconds it just crashes to my desktop window.

After paying Bruno back in chapter 14 the Loading screen stays forever, you never get to the next section of the game, reloading does nothing. Game breaking bug as I now can't complete the game.

I just installed Mafia II through Steam and I'm trying to play it and when I open it, the small Mafia II splash screen is displayed then the game opens, the copyright information screen shows then directly after that, the game crashes to the desktop without any error messages.
Can someone from 2K Games assist me with this? I really want to play Mafia II.

I have the same problem i can't get down the staircase in the observatory without it freezing been retrying many times same thing i even shut my PS3 down for a day and tried again, any help would be gratefully appreciated. Also i'm playing it on hard maybe that has something to do with it.

every 5-10 minutes mafia 2 would crash and the screen would lock into a solid color, the first crash was responsive and i was able to alt+tab to windows when it notified me that "display driver has crashed and recovered", the second, third and fourth crash require me to hard reset my laptop
all other games, company of heroes, bfbc2, l4d2, etc runs smothly without problems, the last similar problem is with the uniengine benchmark, which i need to do system recovery with because windows would lock up a few seconds after login.
physx,dx9,and other drivers are up to date
can anyone help me?
