Game crashes my PC chapter 1

It seems to be random be it crashes everytime and i have to maually restart computer. In Sicily at the beginning, anywhere between after you throw the grenade threw the window and gettin to the top of the stair in the next room when the guys says "hostages must be upstairs" screen gets all weird and a loud constant sound.

    780i, gtx280 w/ 8800 gt as physx processor, q6600, 8 gig ddr2 sli ocz memory, windows 7 64

things i tried to resolve the problem in order:

1 installed previous version on nvidia drivers (197)
    2 reinstalled physx drivers
3 ran physx threw primary gpu (gtx280) instead of separate gpu (8800gt)
    4 reinstalled the game
5 turned physx off (in game menu)

    any suggestions?

I have never had this kind of problem before, ever.

Try temporarily disabling your sound card/chip in Device Manager, then run the game and see if it still crashes.

BTW, are you using the latest motherboard and sound drivers?

And make sure you have the latest chipset drivers from nvidia.

That's a shame, you really shouldn't have to do that.

    Anyway, at least it's running.

You could try putting the 8800 in by itself, could be a problem with it...? Was the loud sound coming out of your speakers or the pc?

Whats your psu rating?, amps not watts, there should be no problem running two cards with one set as the PhysX card, I'm currently using a GTX470 as the render card and a GTX260 as the PhysX card with no problems.
