The game has no steering wheel support. This ticked me off pretty bad.

WTF?? I have read from numerous sources that it does, this was the reason i bought the damn game. I love the old cards and the feel in them, i just want to drive around specially in the winter. This is a serious let down for me...

I agree, i didnt pay shietloads of money for my G25 to never use it. This game is perfect for such wheel. I dont mind useing emulator as long as there is NO deadzone.

There are many great racing games out there this game is a shooter not a racing game.

That guy has a Logitech Driving force ex, hence his INI file won't work with your g25. Try mine (g27) hopefully it will work better for ya. I knew they were gonna dump us without wheel support as soon as I played the demo.

Are they going to add wheel support in a patch later? Or this is how it is?

This game is a sequel to Mafia 1, which was a story driven shooter/driving game with great wheel support. Removing features from a game series is never a good course of action. That is why there are so many of us upset over the lack of wheel support.

    Thumbs down

I too got mixed messages regarding wheel support for the game. I read on this very forum an answer from a 2K guy which lead me to believe wheels would be supported. (It was related to the difference between simulation mode and arcade mode for driving, and the 2K guy said 'simulation mode is for folks who would rather drive using a steering wheel peripheral'. To me, that seemed to say that steering wheel peripherals would be supported)

as of right now, however, I see no way (short of following the config hacks, which from what I understand aren't all that spectacular as far as wheel precision. i.e.-horrible dead zones etc.) to make steering wheels work.

yes i also seen on here what the 2k guy said and seen 2 reviews in Late 2009 that said you can use a wheel, i have a Logitech Driving Force EX. and i use it for mafia 1 when i used to play and it worked perfect. even my GTA4 it works and even in TBOGT it works much better. not to much of a dead zone, i only wanted the game for driving old cars not really just to shoot i was going to buy Kane & Lynch 2 just to shoot

The dead zone ain't bad you just have to set your rotation to a reasonable number (ex g25 set to 180 or so) instead of 900 degrees.

Only thing i miss now is the FF. But i have found a comfortable balance with the xbox 360 emulator and a g27. However , I do agree - all these *****in cars wtf with no wheel support?

I got my wheel working great thanks to the emulator.
For the life of me,I can not understand why the is no wheel support in a driving game.

Its just amazing,I still can not believe it.There had to be some major problems for support not to be added in.

Anyhow the game is awesome when using a wheel for driving and overall the game is great.Just need the force feedback to work on the wheel and its a 10/10 for me.

Anyone with a rubble pad,and is FF/vibration working on that?

Vibration works for controllers, I don't know about steering wheels, though.

Thanks a lot chalkman, you are the man...

tried the INI with my G25, works fine, even the deadzone is not that bad, after some driving I got used to it, the handling of the cars is much better now than before with the keyboard, especially the accelerating an braking makes the cars better driveable on snow and ice.

thank you so much chalkman, you saved my (and many others for sure) day(s), now it's fun playing mafiaII, like we played mafia before...
