Is Mafia II performing suitably?

Core 2 Duo E7400 3.84 GHz
2 GB DDR2 918 MHz
GTS 250 1 GB(stock)
Windows 7 x86

Game Settings:

1440x900
NO AA
8X AF
NO VS
NO AO
Shadows: Low
Geometry: Medium
PhysX: Medium

I'm getting a benchmark score of around 39-41 FPS. However, in-game FPS is pretty solid with around 60 or even more at some places.

Is this a satisfactory performance for my system with the current game settings?

Any suggestions regarding game settings which could improve performance with the same hardware?

P.S. I'm only using Vito's cloth Apex at the moment.

Considering you have PhysX on, then it's OK.

Personally, I'd get rid of PhysX, and try turning everything else on full.

If it's still a bit slow, lower the AA.

Turning off PhysX, 16X AF, AA on, Geometry high, gives 49 FPS in the benchmark. Not bad at all.
