And you can blow up the gas station, though make sure your car is far enough from the pumps
And you can also rob the place if you feel particularly criminal.

Has anyone run out in the demo i don't think 10mins is enough time i think i can see the petrol sign but it doesnt change at all.
Are you talking about GTA IV? Because that was a really amazing game yet people hate it with passion (like me, yet GTA IV was my first true love to buy a 360).
MAFIA II IN 2 DAYS!
Anyway, Mafia II has the gas thing while GTA IV doesn't. In GTA IV, I used to take cars that were given to me or I stole on missions, I never stole any cars on the street. If I wanted to steal a car, i'd need it and I needed to set-up a scenario so on-lookers would believe that it would be my car (that's so "gay" in it's own way
I'll do the same as Mafia II. If I do steal a car, i'll steal one in an alley or at night, if possible (as the night is not like GTA IV with whatever time you want to play, you know?).
I noticed in the demo you can select the type of gas you buy. There's only one company choice, so there's not really a choice...but I wonder if there's another gas that's better or that doesn't release pink smoke from the exhaust when stepping on the brake.
I have, but I had stopped the times to mess around a little. I tried to see what happened if I would total a car. I remember when I played GTA 3 (Never played 4) that by the time your car was almost breaking down, with the smoke and all, you had to run, because it could blow up from right under your seat. Near the gas station is a parking lot with some containers and I tried to wreck the car I had. Worst thing that happened was that my engine broke down =) Because of the endless driving back and forth I got a warning that I was running out of petrol and a light started to blink on the HUD.
yes they do and yes we have a meter. Also at the gas station there is a car wash where you can was blood and grime off.
When I filled gas in the demo, the guy that worked there approached the car before then getting back to his booth (The lazy **** as he is) and Vito got out and filled it... :PThe guy that works there, fills it up for you

I somehow m..managed to have a burning gas p..pumper fill my car tank from a blown up gas station today, it was funny b..because he was burning and screaming "Auhh! AuHh!"
All i did was crash a cab into the gas p..pump.
You DONT run out of gas. I have checked it. Maybe its a feature that was removed for the demo but why would the producers put another feature that just makes your car "hop" and accelerate slower?
I drove for a long long time with my gas tank empty and it never stopped. Never, ever.

They do change certain stuff for demos.This one was quite small tho 1gb.The full game will be much better.
Im sure the only reason the car keeps going is to allow players to reach the gas station, although it would be better if you could carry fuel in a container in your boot.
It's not pink smoke, the brake lights shine through the smoke making it look pink. If you smash your tail lights the smoke won't be pink. Also, there would be no point in having multiple gas companies because a full tank lasts more than enough time and if the prices were different you would choose the cheapest. Alot of the time (In Mafia anyhow)Stolen cars would be either not full 1/2 or nearly empty.So Yeah getting fuel is kinda important and remember if your picking up a stolen ride make sure you look at thegas meter as it might need some fuel if you plan on getting in trouble with it.
Where can i see how much gas i have left?
Ok i decided to get a fast car drive up and down the motor way for about 10mins becuase the timer started on 12:30 and eventually i got the warning light and a message saying your running out of fuel i think in the final game you will have enough time to proply run out.
I stole a random car, drove it to the gas station and filled it up, and you can see on the gas meter that it's filled up.
On the first mafia i would steal a car and it would be almost out of gas and then i stole another car and it had a little more.It was cool if your car ran out out of gas it would stop moving which happened on the first mafia even tho i didn't use the gas stations for some reason.When i get mafia II tomorrow imma test that out.

I love how if you shoot the gas tanks they blow up instantly. Once cop just got instantly incinerated. I didn't see his body after the smoke settled.
But not in Mafia 2
